Jul-13-04  ruylopez900: Hmm, he's only got one game played, but it's quite the amazing one. I wonder if I can go find some of his others if they are as half as decent as his above game...

Welch göttlich schönes Spiel.

Ein Meer von Feuer.

Der ganze H Himmel brennt.

Wir sind allein, Halbgötter wir.

Und unser haarig Bein

Springt nackt auf altem Steine im Gemäuer.

Feb-02-12  bondll: His son (or possibly grandson; I don't remember exactly), Michael Feuer, is a good friend of mine. He is the Dean of the School of Education at George Washington University in DC. He saw me reading a chess book at a conference and told me about a famous game between his father and O'Kelly. I guess this is it.

MissScarlett: I think we can rule out Feuer being the Belgian champion in 1936, on the grounds that i)he wasn't a Belgian citizen and ii)the champion that year was Koltanowski (http://www.rogerpaige.webspace.virg...).

A possible solution is that he played in an unofficial event:

<In 1936 there were three Belgian championships, because of fact that some players did not agree with the BSF's way of organising the championship and decided to hold their own. They held actually two: one where only Belgian players were allowed and one international championship.>

But none shows <Otto Feuer> as champion, at least to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgi...
