Oct-10-09  whiteshark: Quote of the Day

" I have a notion that the game of chess provides us with a very attractive image of fulfilled human life, It conjures up every sort of situation that involves struggle and overcoming. At the beginning, of course, we have to concentrate too hard on getting our head around the game as to let our imagination stray across the board; but soon our heavenly spirits take flight and restrains their journey."

Tabanus: WIM Marion Heintze (Worch), Germany, born 5 Sept. 1954. Now rated 2235, http://ratings.fide.com/card.phtml?... with no FIDE rated games since 1992.

DDR (East Germany) blitz champion (as Marion Worch) in 1969, 1972, and 1976. Apparently no games played 1978-1981. WIM in 1983. DDR champion (women) in 1985. DDR vice-champion in 1987 and 1988; placed 3rd in 1984 and 1989. DDR Teleschach champion (women) in 1985. Rating peak 2250 in 1990. Played for DDR in the 1990 olympiad (board 3) (East and W Germany were then united but had separate teams).

The player record M Worch is her.

Oct-10-09  whiteshark: Great work, <Tabanus>!

For the posted game: that was mean. I've checked two German chess magazines to find some information about that tournament - completely in vain. :(

One of them - Europa Rochade, 720p. - without content and with a chaotic layout. Found lots of interesting reads as compensation. :D
