  alexmagnus: That's one of the most incomplete bios I've ever seen on chess related Wikipedia articles. No birth date (only year). No death date (only year). No birth- and deathplace. No death cause despite quite a young age (the second link below the article mentions some "deadly, incurable disease" though).

He died one tournament after having gained the national master title. The hurdles for that title were quite high back then though - as a non-master he twice reached the semifinals of the Soviet championships.
