  Tabanus: Arthur Henry Trott?
May-26-17  Paarhufer: <Tabanus: Arthur Henry Trott?> At least he played the British Championship 1952, see http://www.saund.co.uk/britbase/pgn...

Tabanus: Yes, but I found (and lost!) another entry (from the same source?) with question marks behind Arthur and Henry. Anyway, there are several: Arthur H. Trott b. Apr-May-Jun 1930 in Camberwell London, Arthur Henry Trott b. 20 May 1930 (died 1987 in Camden London), Arthur Henry Trott b. 18 Oct 1932 (died 2007 in Dorset), Arthur H Trott b. Jan-Feb-Mar 1933 in Bridport, Dorset.

During 1951-1953 he is reported as young and talented, "surely we will hear more from him" etc., but... no more.

The Edward Alleyn Magazine, June 1951 proudly mentions that <A. H. Trott (tn 1945-47) has won the Southern Counties' Chess Championship by finishing first out of the British players in the recent Southsea Tournament. Both "The Times" and the "Observer" made favourable comments on his play.> Alleyn's School is in Dulwich, South London, near to Camberwell.

May-27-17  Paarhufer: <Tabanus: (and lost!)> I see.

The chessplayer A.H. Trott commented in BCM 1950, pages 239-240 his win against Leonard William Barden (the game was played on board one in the match between Oxford University and the Metropolitan C.C.). Maybe <roberts partner> still remembers the man.

Nov-08-22  Jan Kersten: The bulletin of the 1953 Hoogoven tournament (page 72) contains an interview with Arthur Henry Trott. He says he was born May 20 1930 in London.
