Dec-14-06  Maatalkko: Stanleys, you have quite a thing for the female players, don't you? This is probably the fourth or so post I've seen from you in the past two days (some were old).

I guess it's a public service though. It's hard to tell who the hot ones are by looking at game scores.

Dec-14-06  Maatalkko: OK, after clicking on your link, I must say that is very impressive. very very impressive. Good Work Stanleys!!
Dec-14-06  stanleys: You're right <Maatalkko>,but what could I do?As my high-professional comments on some games are not attractive enough for people here,I am making some comments on female players, and it works immediatly!
Dec-14-06  stanleys: <I guess it's a public service though>

Of course it's such a pleasure for me to show you unknown chess players :)

And I did a good job,WannaBe already fell in love :)

Dec-14-06  Maatalkko: How about we do an ongoing contest called ChessQueen or something. The objective is to find the hottest female chess player above 2000. People submit pictures and if they are seconded we vote on them. The voting period is three days and if the new girl receives more votes from registered users then she is the ChessQueen, and whoever found her is the Scoutmaster.

We can submit the same person multiple times. For example you can submit a picture of Arianne Caolli that gets voted on, but if that picture loses then another one of her could win. Let's also make a rule that poses don't count; if a girl is obviously posing as a model being filmed by a professional that is too much of an advantage.

What do you think, <stanleys>? I bet we can get some ppl interested in the contest, and it will generate some attention because there will be prudish people telling us to grow up or that we're being sexist or something.

cu8sfan: <Maatalkko> There already is (or was, as the link doesn't seem to work) such a contest: http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail....

I don't think it's necessary to do this here. Don't get me wrong, I like a nice girl but let's admire these girls' chess and not their looks. No wonder there are so few women in chess with all these drooling geeks around...

Dec-14-06  stanleys: Not a bad idea <Maatalkko>,but it doesn't interest me much.

As I said earlier it's a pleasure for me to provide information about chess players, who remain unknown there. This could be attractive girls, but also well-forgotten players from the past,or either some guys from my country.

Dec-15-06  Maatalkko: <cu8sfan> What's to admire about Alexandra Wilson's chess? She lost to Murphy, and that's not a u, not an o.
Dec-15-06  code13: On a serious point, I saw Alexandra Wilson at the EU championships in Liverpool and she was described as an FM. How does one get to be an FM with a peak Elo of 2101?
Dec-15-06  Maatalkko: You pay them.
Dec-15-06  TIMER: <code13> You only need 2100 to become a Woman FIDE Master, as opposed to 2300 for a FIDE Master.
Dec-15-06  code13: Thanks for the info Timer. I would have thought her place-card on the table should have said "WFM" then, but it said "FM". But no doubt you have given me the correct explanation.
Dec-15-06  Maatalkko: Do you know the fee for becoming an FM, Timer?
Dec-15-06  TIMER: <Maatalkko> No I don't, but I would pay it once I reach 2300 as it gives you a lots of discounts in internationally rated tournaments.
Dec-15-06  Maatalkko: <TIMER> Oh, now I see the purpose of it. Judging by other comments I've read, I thought being an FM was just an ego boost.
Dec-19-06  stanleys: <Maatalkko: <TIMER> Oh, now I see the purpose of it. Judging by other comments I've read, I thought being an FM was just an ego boost.>

Me too,but now as we know the truth, let's try to become FIDE masters. What do you think, <Maatalkko:>?

Dec-24-06  Maatalkko: <stanleys> Sounds like a plan! Only 500 Elo points to go. (I need more than Alexandra because I can't pass for a woman). Better work on my tactics!

Dec-25-06  stanleys: <Maatalkko:> Don't care about the rating! All you need is to work hard, and the results will come very soon! Check this for example: http://www.fide.com/ratings/id.phtm...
Dec-25-06  Mameluk: <stanleys> Good quality. Next world champion or next caught cheater it seems.
Dec-25-06  stanleys: Oops! I forgot something:http://www.cpai.in/news96.htm
Dec-25-06  Mameluk: Sorry, I of course read abou this case before and did not remember that name. His unexpected rise was not mentioned in the article I think.
Dec-26-06  Maatalkko: Dang dude. That graph gave me a laugh, but the story dashes that.

I know...Bluetooth in my blue jeans! Let's see if the tournament director dares search me there!

Feb-10-11  BLarsen1967: <Maatalkko> <What's to admire about Alexandra Wilson's chess?> -- Well, you can always find something... (even if A.Wilson might not be the Stella Vander of Chess) --btw,I hear Wilson is the girlfriend of GM Simon Williams,he might teach her a few tricks
