Benzol: It was interesting to witness him playing in the 2005 Auckland Zonal. I hadn't realised he is younger than I am. LOL.
Jul-24-06  Runemaster: I knew him when he was much younger (and so was I). Sigh...

Jonathan Sarfati: Congrats to Stephen for becoming Australian Champion for 2008!! He scored 8/11 equal with Herman Claudius van Riemsdijk and half a point behind Dejan Antic, but neither of them was eligible for the title. Solo was leading the tournament for most of the rounds with strong play, was undefeated, and missed a crushing win against Herman Claudius van Riemsdijk. See http://www.parramattachess.org/ausc... for results and crosstable.

GrahamClayton: When Solomon won the the 2007-08 Australian championship, it was his first Australian title at the age of 45, plus it was the 14th time that he has participated in the biennial championship, after making his début in the 1981-82 event.

Benzol: Stephen did not play as well as he usually does in the 5th George Trundle NZ Masters but I'm picking he will play much better in the forthcoming Olympiad.
