Some info:

A Rotterdam chess player dr. K. M. Bergsma, has distinguished himself above all, and now not on the chessboard. For five days and five nights, this brave soul worked as a surgeon in the midst of machine gun fire: he lived 10 meters from the Maas bridge, and was within 2 minutes after the occupation of the bridgehead bandaging in nightwear.

Answers on a postcard to Edward Winter, c/o Switzerland. First correct entry wins an evening of yodeling, to take place high on a hill with a lonely goatherd.
