The passion for playing chess is one of the most unaccountable in the world. It slaps the theory of natural selection in the face. It is the most absorbing of occupations. The least satisfying of desires. A nameless excrescence upon life. It annihilates a man. You have, let us say, a promising politician, a rising artist that you wish to destroy. Dagger or bomb are archaic and unreliable - but teach him, inoculate him with chess.

-- H.G. Wells

Chess-play is a good and witty exercise of the mind for some kind of men, and fit for such melancholy, Rhasis holds, as are idle, and have extravagant impertinent thoughts, or troubled with cares, nothing better to distract their mind, and alter their meditations; invented (some say) by the general of an army in famine, to keep soldiers from mutiny: but if it proceed from overmuch study, in such case it may do more harm than good; it is a game too troublesome for some men's brains, too full of anxiety, all out as bad as study; besides it is a testy choleric game, and very offensive to him that loseth the mate. William the Conquerer, in his younger years, playing at chess with the Prince of France (Dauphine was not annexed to that crown in those days) losing a mate, knocked the chess-board about his pate, which was a cause afterwards of much enmity between them.

--Burton, The Anatomy of Melancholy

Just because many great chess players were obnoxious jerks, doesn't mean that if you're an obnoxious jerk you're a great chess player.

--AgentRgent

You are also a machine, as are Anand, Carlsen, Kasparov, and Fischer. You and the others are just inferior machines. Your idea of beautiful chess is simply faulty chess that is not caught in its faults.

--vsaluki

Alas, before the post mortem the gods have placed the game.

--Phony Benoni

A chess engine is a great antidote to human optimism.

[Y]ou have not been mean to me. Being mean to me is accepting my sacrifices and then taking me to a lost ending.

Oct-02-21  rbd: Dogmatic fools lie so very often. Exhibit A : lie of <optimal play> about pantheism/panentheism ...A dogmatic fool like <optimal play> can not understand difference between pantheism and panentheism even in hundred years even though I had explained the difference.

Hey , dogmatic fool <optimal play> - tell the difference between pantheism and panentheism . Put up or shut up.

Oct-02-21  rbd: <<playground player: <rbd> Enough is enough. I AM sounds like a pretty personal God to me. "We are gods"--I'd be hard put to find a less worthy object of worship. I'd rather this discussion continue somewhere else.>

<Playground player> does not know what he is talking about .

He does not even know the difference between personal god and non personal god Absolute.

I will explain all this here in this forum including his point about 'i am '. By the way , his point about 'i am ' related to highest level of Moslow hierarchy , transcendence.

Usually , dogmatic people do not have brains to understand all this - let us see if <playground player> is an exception.

In general , dogmatic fools are massive drag on civilization - dogmatic fools like <optimal play> , <big pawn>/<George Wallace> , <ohiochessfan> , <diceman>, <thegoodanarchist> et always have

Oct-03-21  optimal play: <Nozzle the Parrot: Hey , dogmatic fool <optimal play> - tell the difference between pantheism and panentheism . Put up or shut up.>

Kenneth Rogoff (kibitz #430062)

Kenneth Rogoff (kibitz #437285)

Kenneth Rogoff (kibitz #437290)

Nozzle, I've put up now you shut up.

Oct-04-21  rbd: <optimal play><Pantheism is believing the rocks are a god, the trees are a god, etc

Panentheism is believing God is in the rocks, God is in the trees, >

What an idiot !

That is absolutely wrong dogmatic fool <optimal play>

You have no clue what the hell you talking about.

You do not even know what non personal god Absolute is.

Both pantheism and panentheism are about non personal god Absolute with a subtle difference. Later on , I will explain and provide the link also.

Unlike dogmatic fool <optimal play> who vomitted some made up nonsense about pantheism/parenthesis without giving any link.

Dogmatic fools <optimal play> and <big pawn>/<George Wallace> are gigantic fools - once they were babbling about Monte hall problem talking complete nonsense. I taught them solution in such an easy manner that even a 12 year old would understand but these two fools still did not understand. Dogmatic fool <ohiochessfan> was very happy that day to realize that he is only a fool whereas these two clowns are gigantic fools.

Oct-04-21  rbd: Dogmatic fool <optimal play> just gave a demonstration for the saying :

<It is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are a fool , than to open your mouth and remove all doubts>

Bravo dogmatic fool <optimal play> . Attaboy!

2) and now I would start teaching these dogmatic fools teachings of Jesus as learned through Christian non dual mysticism and none of these dogmatic fools would understand - not even <playground player>, let alone king of dogmatic fools <thegoodanarchist>

Soon..

Oct-04-21  rbd: Let us expose dogmatic fool <optimal play> some more.

Hey dogmatic fool <optimal play> - all these years you kept babbling about god without knowing what you talking about . Do you know after all these years what non personal god Absolute is , what Christian non dual mysticism is ?

Fool , you vomited nonsense about pantheism and panentheism without even realizing that they both are about non personal god Absolute , without giving any link , without knowing difference between two , you just mouthed a superficial made up nonsense.

The reason that you have not been able to understand/learn non personal god Absolute and Christian non dual mysticism all these years and never will , is that like other dogmatic fools , you too are very stupid. You can not grasp complex ideas , you need simplistic fairy tales of personal god meant for 5 year olds as bedtime nonsensical stories.

Oct-04-21  rbd: Let us expose dogmatic fool <optimal play> some more before I teach sense to dogmatic fools.

Here is a quora user talking nonsense as he explains difference between pantheism and panentheism : <I I think the problem here is that you have left “all” undefined, and used it twice with two different meanings. You say “all is in God”, and “all there is”. In set theory, if one set is greater than another, that does not mean that the two sets are equal. The phrase “all is in God” is a subset relationship, but it could be that the two sets are equal or it could be a proper subset relationship. The phrase “all there is” is the Universal Set or the Universe of Discourse. Different concept.

When you read Panentheism, such as Hartshorne or Whitehead, you realize that there is something more to God than just the Universe.....To a Pantheist, God is the Universe. >

https://www.quora.com/Panentheism-I...

2) so , dogmatic fool <optimal play> you have an opportunity to study/research and fix your stupidity about pantheism/panentheism.

However , as I have asserted before , dogmatic fools like you are too stupid to understand pantheism/panentheism even in hundred years or even hundred lifetimes.

3) this quora user talking nonsense - he saying that pantheism means god is universe and that is all there is to God.

Does that mean if universe is dissolved , god is dead ? That is the question I challenge you to answer simplistic, superficial dogmatic fool <optimal play>

<Put up or shut up > , dogmatic fool <optimal play>

Oct-05-21  rbd: Let us give some time to dogmatic fool <optimal play> - a few days/weeks - to try to redeem himself by doing some study/research about pantheism/panentheism and talk sense for once in life (clarity/depth of thinking/understanding)

Till then I would like to take break from the forum of <keypusher> and when I come back , I would teach teachings of Jesus through Christian non dual mysticism to the dogmatic fools.

Hallelujah!

Nov-25-21  Rdb: <v> and <v> : <rdb> , you should not come across petty, vindictive , troubled soul

Me : wiser words were never spoken , amigos

<V> : and stay focused ..Do not let your mind get distracted.

Look , life wants to get something huge done through you . That is sattva.

Do not take ownership of that - that would be tamas.

Do not get too involved having fun talking to people excessively - that would be rajas.

Rajas and tamas would stop you from engaging with project in a focused manner while being serene and peaceful. Engage in the project but do not get involved in the project either.

Project is unimportant per se - what is important is to deepen the peace. However , if you do not engage in your life's calling - self actualisation - you won't progress in deepening your peace either.

Me : wiser words were never spoken , amigo.

Hallelujah ! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Nov-25-21  Rdb: <V>, < v>,< y> : <rdb> , do not come across arrogant , know all , sanctimonious , preaching type either.

Me : wiser words were never spoken , amigos

Hallelujah ! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Nov-25-21  Rdb: <keypusher> : <rdb> always meant well , but he struggled with self control. He should continue practicing teachings of Jesus , eventually he would be there.

Me : wiser words were never spoken , amigo .

Hallelujah ! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Nov-25-21  Rdb: Whole world is my teacher - I learn from everyone.

And I am especially grateful for what I learn from my scientist friend Q in philosophy , psychology , maths and so on - simulation hypothesis , Cartesian demon , objective moral values and so on.

2)my childhood friend s has kindly agreed to teach me gurubani and teachings of Vivekananda , rabindranath Tagore.

What I learn from books and these people , I pass on to others.

3) so I taught all ved upanishad, gurubani , Koran , bible et al in 6 hours to k and k and I am refining that now to teach all that in around 3 hours - there are 10 to 15 people presently learning from me.

When I am done teaching them (in 1 to 3 months from now) , I will post all that in Facebook and give the link of that Facebook page to people in case anyone of them is interested.

The intended goal is to reach highest level of Maslow hierarchy (transcendence) : delta brain wave activity all the time - jagrit sushupti (wakeful sleep ) , level of Krishna/Buddha/Jesus...Infinite bliss/peace , infinite intelligence , infinite compassion , infinite concentration /memory

4) in addition , I am sending recordings to k and later will send to my nephew , nieces on maths , computers - intended goal is that in next 10-20 years they will reach highest level in maths (international maths Olympiad , msc maths) and computers...So, at some point , I might put these recordings in some YouTube channel , though only my old students are expected to make sense of those recordings - those who do maths without using pen and paper.

And at some later point (many years from now), I may make youtube channel about fitness/nutrition too - intention is that I and my nephew , nieces reach high level in fitness/nutrition (yoga, running , weight training) and would share that.

Dr s too has kindly offered to share his inputs and I intend to take him up on his offer.

Dr s, psychologist/therapist , 30 years of experience.

Nov-25-21  Rdb: So , in 1-3 months from now , I would post Christian non dual mysticism in the forum of <John l spouge> and <keypusher> , in case they have some input for me.

2) I would also answer the questions of <playground player> viz. (a) the quoute of Bible 'i am that I am ' - how is this about non personal god Absolute.

(b) if ultimate reality is non personal god and Bible/teachings of Jesus are about non personal god Absolute and there is no God other than us , if we all are eternal Absolute (body dies not us) , then how come homosapiens are so unworthy of being worshipped.

3) I would also explain <pantheism> and <panentheism> for the benefit of <optimal play>

Nov-25-21  Rdb: So I will see you guys after 1 to 3 months from now , post Christian non dual mysticism and then would leave this site forever.

Good bye till then

Nov-27-21  Rdb: < playground player: <Rdb> I have deleted your posts because I don't know what you're talking about and it sounds like gibberish.>

Me : I appreciate that , <playground player> . That is why I like to post in your forum and talk to you.

You are the first dogmatic christian i have come across who deleted <Christian non duality mysticism> stuff because he found it gibberish.

Usually , dogmatic christians find such stuff difficult to face because they are bigoted , but not you.

That is why I have such a high respect for you.

Happy Thanksgiving , <playground player>

Good bye for now.

P.s. here is the post that <playground player> deleted.

<So , in 1-3 months from now , I would post Christian non dual mysticism in the forum of <John l spouge> and <keypusher> , in case they have some input for me. 2) I would also answer the questions of <playground player> viz. (a) the quoute of Bible 'i am that I am ' - how is this about non personal god Absolute.

3) I would also explain <pantheism> and <panentheism> for the benefit of <optimal play>>

Dec-14-21  Rdb: Part 1

Most of the dogmatic people I have come across are extremely stupid - <big pawn>/<George Wallace> , for instance.

Or <playground player> , <thegoodanarchist>, <optimal play> , <gezafan> , <diceman> , <ohiochessfan> ....

When I try to explain Christian non dual mysticism to these idiots , they find it very difficult to handle the assertion that Bible and teachings of Jesus are about non personal god Absolute - there is no god other than us , body dies not us , we are eternal non personal god Absolute, personal god of dogmatic fools does not exist.

2) these dogmatic , dishonest idiots start saying all kind of things including - "you talking gibberish"

3) so the set of posts that I am compiling now , I am writing each statement in that as a mathematical statement.

4) <a mathematical statement is a sentence which is either true or false. >

https://www.math.toronto.edu/prepar...

5) now , if to these dogmatic fools, even mathematical statements occur as gibberish , then of course , they are too stupid to help.

6) I would post these sets of posts in the forums of <keypusher>/<Johnlspouge> for 'peer review' /inputs.

I hope I would be done within a month.

Dec-14-21  Rdb: Part 2

". Harris is particularly opposed to what he refers to as dogmatic belief, and says that "Pretending to know things one doesn't know is a betrayal of science – and yet it is the lifeblood of religion

Harris holds that there is "nothing irrational about seeking the states of mind that lie at the core of many religions. Compassion, awe, devotion, and feelings of oneness are surely among the most valuable experiences a person can have."[16]

Everything of value that people get from religion can be had more honestly, without presuming anything on insufficient evidence. The rest is self-deception, set to music.

Harris rejects the dichotomy between spirituality and rationality, favoring a middle path that preserves spirituality and science but does not involve religion.[52] He writes that spirituality should be understood in light of scientific disciplines like neuroscience and psychology.[52] Scienc- e, he contends, can show how to maximize human well-being, but may fail to answer certain questions about the nature of being, answers to some of which he says are discoverable directly through our experience"

Dec-15-21  Rdb: Part 3

Whole world is my teacher , including these dogmatic fools

For example , when <playground player> said like "I am pretty certain Bible is about personal god because ..."

Well , I addressed his stupidity and answered his stupid , childish objections in the posts explaining Christian non dual mysticism

2) and then when <playground player> could not handle that he was like "you talking gibberish"

So , I handled this stupidity of his too - by making every statement of mine a mathematical statement in the posts explaining Christian non dual mysticism

3) similarly , stupidity and dishonesty of <big pawn>/<George Wallace> , <optimal play> and other dogmatic fools helped me too.

4) whole world is my teacher including dogmatic fools of this world.

Diademas: Thank you for your kind greeting.
It hasn't been the best of years here with Corona restrictions and a declining mother. She's gone from very active and mentally strong woman, "only" 78 years old, to someone that maybe shouldn't be left alone in just a few months.

I'm looking forward to the World Rapid and Blitz Championships (2021) starting today, and I'm grateful for living in a country where Chess is considered top entertainment, so the event is covered on national TV for hours on end.

A very merry Christmas and the very best for the upcoming year to you and all your loved ones from the city of your ancestors.

  Diademas: Hi Scott.

I will be coming to the US in May, June this year with two intentions. Exploring BBQ in the south and driving through the mid-West.

My base will be with a chidhood friend living in Austin, Texas going to Franlins and hearing cool jazz. But it would be nice to have a meet up in Nashville or any other place of your choice.

Leave me a word at knut508@hotail.com if it is of any interest.

Regards from your friend Knut.

I live in the countryside in what is more of a touristic holiday-destination about an hour's drive from Copenhagen. Both my sons are studying in Copenhagen though.
