HeMateMe: I didn't recognize any of the names, except for Glen Flear, of England. He writes backgammon books, as well as being a chess pro.
Jun-09-10  HolyKnight: I have at least one of Bauer's Books, but that picture in chess base he took kind or looked creepy to me.

Aug-25-12  twinlark:

The French Federation has acceded to the wishes of the three remaining co-leaders of the French Championship and called off the playoff for first that was postponed when Christian and Nathalie Bauer's baby son, Louis, died.

Consequently, the result of this year's French Championship has Bauer, Vachier-Lagrave, Bacrot and Edouard to be co-champions for 2012: http://www.echecs.asso.fr/

Congratulations to the French Federation and the three other players who were co-leading for deciding on such a compassionate and respectful outcome.

Aug-25-12  Cemoblanca: Very sad news! Condolences to the Bauer family! :(
Aug-25-12  eric the Baptist: So sorry to hear this news. All prayers and suport to the Bauer family.

Aug-25-12  drik: Condolences - from someone whose brother died of diptheria aged four. I saw the effect it had on my parents, over decades. I suspect that it is something nobody ever gets over; just something they get better at hiding. I hope it does not prove so for you.
Aug-26-12  Naniwazu: Sorry to hear about your tragic loss :(
Aug-22-14  Valmy: I suspect his son was named LOUIS and not LOUIE, but i don't find any evidence of that.
Oct-22-24  Everett: Interesting recent opening try
