Jul-24-07  Davolni: I wonder if he is an IM or GM? 2517 should be enough to get a GM norm, shouldn't it?

Jul-24-09  Funicular: Happy birthday to you (And to me!)
Jul-24-09  Blunderdome: He is an IM according to his FIDE card:

http://ratings.fide.com/card.phtml?...

Jul-24-09  WhiteRook48: happy birthday!
Jul-24-09  waustad: The FIDE card now says GM. Was the earlier post a typo or did it change?
Jul-31-09  Blunderdome: Yes, it did change. Perhaps someone who updates that site saw this page; or maybe they just like to update players on their birthdays.

He is still absent from wikipedia's list of chess grandmasters ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o... ); of course, by the time you check that, it might be updated too.

Aug-01-09  jon01: Tigran Gharamian has an ELO of 2615. I think he is the highest rated IM in the world.
Aug-01-09  Vakus: bizarre, isn't it?
Aug-01-09  Vakus: Just checked his FIDE Card - he's Grand Master, ยน5 in France.
Aug-02-09  jon01: It's strange, he is listed as an IM in the Ordix Open.
Aug-03-09  Vakus: I guess i know the reason - organizers of Mainz event drew up a list based on the FIDE April ratings.

Tabanus: He ended 2nd (behind GM Sebastien Feller) in the Paris championship 3-11 July 2010:

Oct-15-11  jon01: Now he is rated 2676 which ranks him #67 in the world. Still he is probably the most unknown TOP 100 player.

Impressive rating graph as well http://ratings.fide.com/id.phtml?ev...

Jul-24-12  waustad: Happy B'day Tigran. I really wish I could find the autograph (on a copy of Nimzo's Chess Praxis!) I used to own of your first namesake. Oh well, these things happen.
