Oct-26-04  uzeromay: Great picture.
Oct-26-04  iron maiden: He was leading the Board 2 standings with a performance over 2900 a couple of rounds ago, but now he's slipped back a little.
Nov-10-04  alexandrovm: he is always with the mouth open, it's funny
Dec-03-04  aw1988: If I played chess like that, I would always be like that as well.
Mar-05-05  InfinityCircuit: <Chessgames.com> Vallejo's current rating is 2686, higher than your highest achieved rating.
Mar-05-05  csmath: Vallejo played a good game today, he made no blunders and yet he lost anyway.

I think his opening was good, unfortunately he abandoned any idea of initiative after castling but was not accurate enough for a lengthy defence that followed. But in either case this was a not a bad game from him though he lost.

Mar-09-05  yoozum: <InfinityCircuit>, if they kept up with the current ratings, it would be practically impossible to edit those who keep improving.
Mar-09-05  yoozum: Though he is a top-100, so I guess it would make some sense to update those, atleast.
Mar-25-05  Knezh: Vallejo picked up the pace during the last few mini-matches. Let's hope he keeps it up!
Apr-10-05  azaris: Paco continues where he left off at Amber by losing a miniature against Sokolov in Bundesliga. 11. Rd1?! looks suspicious. White's king never had a chance.

May-17-05  JohnBoy: I've been suggesting DeFirmian vs Vallejo-Pons, 2003 as GotD for a while. I urge everyone to check it out! Very worthwhile.

jaime gallegos: with an overall record of 52,8% and 2679 ELO ! the inflation rate is the only reason to explain it !
May-17-05  mahmoudkubba: <WTHarvey>:sorry to tell with my thanks to your given to us site that I didn't understand the first two problems , plese help?? may be that I am in a hurry thats why may be??

WTHarvey: <mahmoudkubba> In the first puzzle, if Black retakes the rook, Be6+ pushes the king to h8 with mate to follow or forces the rook to f7. In the second, the pawn on d5 is pinned and Nb6+ wins the exchange at least. :-)
Jun-30-05  coolchess: yes Paco deserves a photo, i also think , paco its young but has the chance to play in LInares, where is he going to make a great tournament not ending in last places??

I tought when he was 20 that by a few years he wouldb finishing in a good place in linares, what happens paco???

want to see you improving

Sep-18-05  suenteus po 147: Potential caption for Vallejo-Pons's picture: "What do you mean, 'what am I doing here?' This is LINARES! I live here!"
Sep-18-05  aw1988: What, ANOTHER random Uzbek???
Sep-18-05  PizzatheHut: Potential caption: "Is that what I think it is? Korchnoi flirting with Kosteniuk?"
Oct-14-05  Queens Gambit: I would love to see Vallejo this year making a good Linares, not finishing last as it happens always.
Oct-26-05  capablancakarpov: Vallejo is playing the II Calvia (Spain) Chess Tournament, an Open tournament,Swiss System, 9 rounds. Here is the link with the tournament info:

http://www.calviafestival.com/open....

And here is the link with the live games (7th round), with an interesting Vallejo-Bauer. The games have started at 20.30 PM here in Spain, too late to play chess i think, but better than the Panamericans tiebreak timetable :-).

Dec-07-05  jhoro: what a miss for him today at the WC against Aronian
Jan-03-06  babakova: I noticed at the world cup that Vallejo is balding. Thats tough for a young guy.
Jan-03-06  veigaman: Vallejo had the game against aronian with black in his hands and he made a mistake!. What a pitty because he had outplayed aronian with black in the second classic game with blacks!

jaime gallegos: he's slipped back a little? I truly believe his ELO is overinflated by the tournaments he plays, thats all !
