May-09-09  VaselineTopLove: The picture looks like a mugshot.
May-25-09  robmtchl: I don't think there is a picture of Sloan that could be posted that wouldn't have him looking like some kind of weirdo

eternaloptimist: He did terrible in the World Open this year. His record in cg's database: +1 -5! He looks horrendous in his profile picture. LOL :D
Aug-28-09  teddyo: Would love to destroy this guy OTB!
Dec-22-09  SirChrislov: Looks like he got pulled over for DUI in the pic. anyway, reffering to today's quote:

<"Almost immediately after Kasparov played the magic move 7.g4, the comp started to self destruct. One imagines that if we could have seen the computer, we would have seen smoke coming out of it."> Kasparov vs Deep Junior, 2003

blazerdoodle: Who gives a crap how he looks? He's just older you dips. I wouldn't mind meeting him in the club for a game. He probably clobber me, as I'm pretty low rated player. Does everyone hate him? Has he no friends? I don't believe it. Have you no shame? Oh, your laughing to hard at your own jokes to feel anything. Oh, it's really hilarious, I just didn't get it.

  blazerdoodle: Hi Sam!

Hope you don't come here to read some of this crap. All the best.

HeMateMe: The photo reminds me a little of Chuckie, and also of Harry Dean Stanton. One of the web sites said that his lawsuit against Polgar/Truong is ongoing, and that Sloan is acting as his own lawyer. Thats probably not a good sign. The only people who act as their own lawyer are mass murderers and women in Salem accussed of witchcraft. I mean, its a slam dunk....Thankfully, the USCF is out of the boondogle, and can get back to promoting chess.
Feb-19-10  jahhaj: He may look like a nutcase, he arguably is a nutcase, but in the Polgar/Truong case he's clearly the wronged party. I hope he wins.

HeMateMe: If Sloan and Polgar/Truong were sending phony emails back and forth, as is alleged, why is he any more or less guilty than they? Seems this is a case where the judge will leave the parties "as they were".
Mar-26-10  Everyone: <blazerdoodle: <Does everyone hate him?>> No!
Mar-26-10  TheScroobiousPip: Congrats to Mr. Sloan for winning the 2010 Zombie Invitational.
Apr-04-10  BeeEss: I like Sloan, who is a native Virginian like me.
We discussed stuff some on Internet in the past.

Moreover, Zionists, maybe even Polgar / Truong, stole my identity and emailed s**t under my name.

Similarly Zionists hacked into anti-Zionist Yahoo groups and deleted the groups.

I KNOW Zionists collect names etc. of anti-Zionists and send the info back to Israel.

I also KNOW that Zionists harass anti-Zionists via phone.

And I strongly suspect that Zionists blackmail anti-Zionists in order to shut them up.

Bob

PS. I agree that Sloan resembles great character actor Harry Dean Stanton and IMO he also resembles Hopewell Va long-time chess player Mike Zevgolis. Zevgolis first played in the VA chess championship back in the 1950s and is known by virtually all local chess players. Also Zevgolis has helped train / instruct local strong young players.

And to my knowledge Zevgolis isn't politically involved in Zionist/ant-Zionist politics, so if any of you are Zionists, have no 'reason' to harass him.

HeMateMe: Didn't Sloan do time in jail for a murder or assault conviction?
Apr-04-10  Travis Bickle: <HeMateMe> Yeah he was in the pokey but I dont know what for. That's his mugshot LOL.
Apr-04-10  BeeEss: "HeMateMe: Didn't Sloan do time in jail for a murder or assault conviction?"

Assault ain't murder.

Are you one of the Zionists who harasses Sloan?

Bob

Apr-04-10  Jim Bartle: "Assault ain't murder."

Precisely why HeMateMe wrote "assault <or> murder."

Apr-04-10  acirce: What the... ?

HeMateMe: Yeah, I wasn't sure what our boy Sammie was guilty of. I remember reading something online about him doing time for a violent crime, I thought it involved a gun. I guess he only became known to many of us chess fans, because of the love triange with Susan Polger and Paul Trong.

Is 'Sloan' a Jewish name? i had no idea, not that I really care, one way or the other.

Apr-04-10  Jim Bartle: "because of the love triange with Susan Polger and Paul Trong."

A typo there: it should be "triage."

Apr-04-10  Granny O Doul: Sam Sloan is not (the late) Claude Bloodgood, although both showed a partiality toward the Grob.
May-07-10  Wyatt Gwyon: <TheScroobiousPip> Congrats to Mr. Sloan for winning the 2010 Zombie Invitational.>
