May-07-10  MaxxLange: Sloan (if that is really him)! does look as if he has seen better days, in the pic. But so it goes, with all of us.

Is his Ishi Press weblog still up? Sloan was, actually and truly, a pioneer of blogging, among his other accomplishments

May-07-10  Wyatt Gwyon: <Maxx>He also invented a method of preserving organs for transplant using an enzyme extracted from woodchucks.
May-07-10  MaxxLange: African or European?
May-24-10  kramputz: Constipated

May-24-10  Travis Bickle: Dead! I think that's him in the coffin.

  chancho: From Wikipedia:

<Sloan has been married three times and has eight children by five women. Sloan's second wife, Honzagool, was a native of Chitral and together they had a daughter born in New York State on October 15, 1981. Sloan and the mother soon separated and Sloan fled New York for Virginia with that same daughter, soon leaving the daughter in the care of a Virginia couple, while the mother soon returned to Chitral. Sloan was soon locked into a now-moot child custody struggle with that Virginia couple over that same daughter which lasted many years. On September 5, 1991, Sloan attempted to flee the USA with that same daughter and he was arrested. Sloan was convicted of attempted abduction of that same daughter for which he spent over two years in State prison.>

<Sloan converted to Islam and thus also is known as Haji Mohammed Ismail Sloan>

Jun-05-10  Wyatt Gwyon: Sloan is a strange dude.

HeMateMe: The blog says that Sam has his very own Satanic cult. Why would someone lie about a thing like that?

  blazerdoodle: LOL.

If it walks like a conspiracy theory, quacks like a conspiracy theory, then : IT IS a conpiracy theory.

Nov-23-10  MaxxLange: that's kind of pathetic, as a parody. it's both stupid and mean. mean parodies should be clever.....

it would take a genius to do a good parody of Sloan's old web site. it's like trying to write a parody of Tolkien's Tom Bombadil character, an ordinary person just can't do it

On the kibitzing preview page all I saw was "Sam's kicked..." We shall not soon see his like again, I thought to myself.

Ditto.

Jan-18-11  edbermac: Whole bunch of pics posted by Sam here. Some personal, political rally, the last chess Olympics.

And look at his apartment on page 34; it's exactly what I imagined it would look like.

HeMateMe: I'm scared to look. My friend knows the director of the film "Basket Case." Some things should not be viewed.
Feb-28-12  Blunderdome: He's running for President.
Apr-10-12  King Sacrificer: Very strange guy. Wikipedia says he is one of the best Chinese Chess players in the world.
Apr-10-12  talisman: Sam is a direct descendant of John Dillinger.

blazerdoodle: Would like to hear more from Sam. Does he still play the Damiano?
Jul-10-12

blazerdoodle: Sam brought out the Damiano and took a beating by the grandmaster Smirin in the World Open. He played the Grob against two other players and drew. But to go up against Smirin with the Damiano is one way to take a beating, I guess.

blazerdoodle: He went there and played, and that is more than some of us can say!
