| Jun-02-08 | | MostlyAverageJoe: Why is there no betting on Chessgames Challenge: The World vs G Timmerman, 2007 ??? There at least 3 plausible moves. |

 | | Sneaky: 4, if you count resigning. |
| Jun-03-08 | | malthrope: <Sneaky: 4, if you count resigning.> Good point <Sneaky> :) Hard to argue with that one! ~lol~ ;-) PS: I guess the same case can be made for adding the last round bets for the Kings' Chess Tournament (which as we can plainly see were also not placed)... For added humor the <ChessBookie> could put up, "How many Draws?" <grin> |

 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <The spring leg will end towards the end of this month. We are not able to give you an exact date just yet.> No bets available for a couple of days, and it will be a few more before the next tournaments start... in my opinion, now would be a good time to end this leg. ;-)) |

 | | Chessgames Bookie: Wagering now available on Timmerman's 50th move: The World vs Timmerman: 50...? and on the winner of the Aerosvit Tournament: Aerosvit: Winner |

We are not able to give you an exact date just yet.> [...] in my opinion, now would be a good time to end this leg. ;-))> ~lol~ Nice try <SQ> ! <wink> ;) I'm sure <ChessBookie> with Summer officially beginning on June 20th will entertain the idea of betting on the 'Chess Giants' Rapids tourney in Yerevan - June 8th-15th, and the 'Foros Aerosvit' in the Ukraine - June 7th-20th (for which we now have betting - Aerosvit: Winner -). Further details in my User's Profile... :) It ain't over 'till it's over! <grin> :^) - Mal |

 | | Stonehenge: <If Timmerman should resign, all wagers will be refunded.> Why not pay off the 'other' ticket in that case, should be more exciting. |
| Jun-06-08 | | malthrope: Way to GO! <ChessBookie> - Chess Giants: Winner - <grin> :)) - Mal |
| Jun-06-08 | | truefriends: < malthrope: Way to GO! <ChessBookie> - Chess Giants: Winner - <grin> :)) - Mal > It's kind of strange to see the highest rated player (Morozevich, 2774) who just won a tournament with 7.5 out of 10 and TPR 2869 to be on a payout of 103:1 :-) |

| Jun-06-08 | | hms123: <chessbookie> Some of us bet substantially (200 in my case) on "other" in the World v Timmerman game thinking that it included "resignation". Further, we have been doing this for a few moves. What's up with the new rule? Thanks. |
| Jun-06-08 | | hms123: <chessbookie> I guess it no longer matters. Thanks. |
Jun-06-08
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <hms123> You've overlooked the bet stipulation which says that if Timmerman resigns, all wagers will be returned. |
| Jun-06-08 | | malthrope: Yeah <hms123> 'tough luck' there... :( You always have to read the <'fine print'> in the text box above the bets. I do recall in the previous - Chessgames Challenge: Y Shulman vs The World, 2007 - against GM Yury Shulman that <ChessBookie> did run a "Resigns" betting option for 1 or 2 moves (if memory serves) at the end of the game. :) - Mal |

| Jun-06-08 | | Buddy Revell: <Chessgames Bookie> Hi! Are you aware that when a person has a Net Worth of <0 chessbucks>, he/she doesn't appear on the Leg Standings? Also, the person's profile no longer shows the ChessBookie logo, with the current Net Worth. Want an example of that? - Myself! =P |
| Jun-07-08 | | Akuni: ...I just wagered 2800 on in Aerosvit...
Just one Bologon wanne-be could ruin me. |
Jun-07-08
 | | Chessgames Bookie: <Buddy Revell> No I wasn't aware of that. I was aware that if your net worth is 1000, and you don't have any tickets, then you do not show up on the standings (it is assumed that you are simply not playing the game). Somebody with zero net worth however is obviously playing the game. Poorly. |

 | | Chessgames Bookie: ♔ NOTICE ♔
The Spring Leg will officially end on June 20th, with the end of Aerosvit. The top 10 places will qualify for the Championship Leg in the Winter of 2008. The #1 place will receive some sort of prize (traditionally a free year of premium membership). Good luck! |
| Jun-09-08 | | Ricardo2001: After a few warming and cautious bookings, I just made some very ambitious bets right now in Aerosvit. I hope to break to the top 10 and get my ticket to the Championship Leg =D |
| Jun-10-08 | | malthrope: <ChessBookie> when you get a chance you'll need to adjust all the bets for the - Yerevan Chess Giants (2008) - this tourney has been postponed two days due to the tragic loss of Grandmaster Karen Asrian <The rounds of June 10 and June 11 of the "Chess Giants" tournament in Yerevan are postponed because of the sudden death of GM Karen Asrian. The tournament will continue on June 12.> http://armchess.am/
It's also posted on the official 'Chess Giants' website... // http://www.chessgiants.am/ Play resumes on June 12th (Round #2).
<Ricardo2001: After a few warming and cautious bookings, I just made some very ambitious bets right now in Aerosvit. I hope to break to the top 10 and get my ticket to the Championship Leg =D> "Good Luck" in your quest <Ricardo2001> :) Don't forget the old adage, <"Be careful what you wish for!"> ;) It always seems easier than it actually is... I got lucky in AeroSvit, Round #3 - took a gamble and it paid off! Hopefully, I'll maintain my #4 position. :) If not at least I'm still in the BLACK with good solid bets for the tourney winners at both 'AeroSvit' and 'Chess Giants!' :^) Regards, - Mal |
| Jun-10-08 | | Kreifi: Hih. This is going to be interesting... for me at least. I have good chances to be in top 10 at the end of the leg. That would be so cool. |
| Jun-10-08 | | malthrope: <Kreifi: Hih. This is going to be interesting... for me at least. I have good chances to be in top 10 at the end of the leg. That would be so cool.> You hang in there <Kreifi> ! :) May your rise to the Leaderboard be swift, decisive and smart! :^) - Mal |

| Jun-11-08 | | Ricardo2001: Thnx, malthrop, the experience's voice is always welcome =) Despite Carlsen saving my day I lost some chessbucks in this round. Nevertheless I'll go for all in the fourth... |
| Jun-11-08 | | malthrope: <Ricardo2001: Thnx, malthrop, the experience's voice is always welcome =)> You're welcome! :) I do what I can, when I can, around here... <sheepish grin> <Despite Carlsen saving my day I lost some chessbucks in this round. Nevertheless I'll go for all in the fourth...> He's really something, isn't he? :)) I bet against him now only when the odds are astronomical! ~lol~ Just remember that Round #5 duly follows Round #4, as we are in no hurry (lots of terrific betting action between the 'Chess Giants' and 'AeroSvit' left to go...). There is always a <"fine line"> when to "Sit on your Hands" (do nothing or bet only small sums) and when to "Go for BROKE!" Generally, when the 'feeling' isn't right - I bet soft (take very little risk with diminutive sums of total c-bucks bet). Of course, if we knew the correct answer to that one (Sit on your Hands? -or- Go for BROKE!) - we'd all be filthy rich! :^) Regards, - Mal |

 | | Annie K.: :D Now look here, Mal, I want you to keep yourself in the top ten and qualify for the Championship season this time! So... On your hands -- Sit! Stay!
