Nov-29-08  malthrope: Just thought to add a kindly assist with the current <ChessBookie> bets. :)

Official websites for...

• 21st Belgrade Trophy // http://www.beochess.rs/2008/trofej_...

• Nanjing Super GM Tourney, China // http://www.64ge.net/

'Good Luck' betting! :^) - Mal

PS: <Touch of Knight: [...] ...but it seems I have managed to disappear completely from the Leaderboard. It might have happened because my current net worth is exactly zero. A bug in your system?>

This happened once before... :) Tried to find it (scrolled back 20 pages), but indeed when one has '0' Net Worth you disappear temporarily from the main list of bettors. I'm sure when <ChessBookie> finishes all the Thanksgiving leftovers you'll get a confirmation of this. ;)

Just a couple pages more would have done it...

By the way, does one's credit rating increase a bit the instant one bets something? If yes, could things be done more simply by the list including all players who would with no loan have a non-initial credit rating?

Thanks <Switch> - Probably I scrolled back too fast... ;) Besides, the basic info <zero Net Worth> was all that really mattered. :) - Mal

Nov-29-08  NakoSonorense: As of now, great odds for Nanjing!

There's more than 8,000 bet on Bu, Svidler and Movsesian! And we all know that they will LOSE!

But maybe I shouldn't say anything... Shhhhh. :p

Stonehenge: Cvetkovic and Velimirovic both win.
Dec-04-08  brankat: <Chessgames Bookie> On the Nanjing Tournament wagering page, right about the Odds table, there is a <click here> button. It actually provides the link to what appears to be the Source Code for the page, not the Tourney site :-)

Nanjing: Winner

Dec-05-08  brankat: Thank You!

Chessgames Bookie: The link should point to the official website, now. http://www.chess-pearlspring.com/si...
Dec-10-08  malthrope: If anyone is slightly confused by <ChessBookie>'s current bet on Elista - FIDE Grand Prix Elista: Winner

It should be pointed out that GM's Magnus Carlsen and Michael Adams have pulled out. In addition GM's Mohamad Al-Modiahki & Yannick Pelletier - replaced.

The 4 new players (replacements) in the Elista 'Grand Prix' event are: GM's Pavel Eljanov, Evgeny Alekseev, Vladimir Akopian & Rustam Kasimdzhanov.

<ChessBookie> has everything and everyone accounted for! :^) - Mal

Dec-10-08  technical draw: The tote board pick 3 for Nanjing rd1 says will be settled Dec. 1st. Um, like thats already past, must mean December 11.
Dec-10-08  Ichiro: Pick 3 says Morozevich, but it shpuld be Movsesian.

Chessgames Bookie: <Ichiro> <technical draw> Thanks, those errors have been corrected.
Dec-11-08  bharatiy: why not settle first round betting, I need money for second round please
Dec-14-08  brankat: <Chessgames Bookie> All the pairings for round 4 Betting are the wrong ones, including Pick-3!

You have provided pairings for round 5 instead. Round four is in progress now (Sunday, 2:00 A.M. EST). Round five will be on in 24 hours.

It's too late to correct the mess-up for the fourth round. I assume the tickets will be refunded. But it's not to late to get it right for round #5.

Just when I expected to collect a big Pick-3 payout :-)

Chessgames Bookie: The official site had pairings for rounds 4 and 5 switched. Therefore we had to do a massive refund of every single bet for these two rounds.

Also I made an error when refunding the bet Nanjing Pearl Spring: Rd 4: Ivanchuk vs Movsesian; instead of refunding the three results (Ivanchuk, Movsesian, Draw) I did a payoff for all three results. Although I did this by accident, luckily its an inconsequential error: it won't effect anybody's standings. Paying off all tickets is the functional equivalent of refunding all tickets: everybody gets paid back exactly what they wagered. No juice is collected, because juice only comes out of losing tickets, and in this case there are no losing tickets.

Fresh bets are in place for round #5.

Dec-14-08  brankat: <Chessgames Bookie> No Pick-3 for round #5? Nor for round #2 of the Elista tournament?
Dec-17-08  TITIKIZA: Chessgames Bookie. WHY ARE YOU NOT PAYING FOR FIDE Grand Prix Elista ROUND 3? WE WANT TO START BEETING.

Chessgames Bookie: The 13th round games of the FIDE Grand Prix Tournament will be the last betting propositions offered in the Fall Leg of the ChessBookie contest. Betting will close on the early morning hours of Sunday, December 28th. Good luck to everyone!

Chessgames Bookie: Betting was open today from 5:00am to 6:00am although the games actually started at 5:00am. Therefore we just issued refunds for all tickets that were purchased between 5am and 6am. Fortunately there wasn't much action during that period. Some people will even get refunds on tickets that would have otherwise lost.

We are about to issue the final payoffs for the season and then we'll recompute the leaderboard and announce the winners. Good luck to everybody!

Chnebelgrind: <Chessgames Bookie> Thanks a lot for the generous prize and for handling that game in this perfect manner. My luck was incredible in this leg. I think I have used up all my luck for a long time. Thanks also to all paticipants and for the helpful and witty comments on the forum (TD, malthrope, Nako and others) Chnebelgrind
Dec-28-08  malthrope: Congrats <Chnebelgrind> for your well deserved victory! :^)

It was truly a squeaker right up till the very end where several high-rollers all had that one last chance! <grin>

Also, to the top ten for surviving this one! ~lol~ And, to all of the many participants as well... :)

As a proud member of the 'Tail-enders club' (in the dungeon) all I can say is we had a good time too! ;)

Think we are now 'primed & ready' for the Winter Leg Championship finals to start. Thanks to <ChessBookie> for once again running a smooth event. :)

Can't wait for the Championship Leg to begin with great Chess events for betting on like Corus (Wijk aan Zee), Linares and the Amber Rapids & Blindfold Chess Tournament to name but just a few... May 'luck' favor the brave and 'skill' guide the hand of the steady bettors! :D Holiday Cheers, - Mal

Dec-29-08  NakoSonorense: Congratulations <Chnebelgrind> for winning! You beat me by just 405 chessbucks! :( I bet on <draw, draw, draw> just enough to pass you on the previous top ten list (you had ~14,950) but I didn't take into consideration that you could also have some winning bets! Anyway, I'll see you in the Championship Leg!

BTW, I qualified three times for the Championship Leg!

<chessbookie> No free membership for the first 2 places like last time?? :( :(
