chessgames.com: OK folks, all bets have been settled including the surprise come-from-behind victory by Anish Giri that paid off at 10:1 odds.

We'll recompute the leaderboard in just a minute and see who the winners are.

Jan-06-12  SloVice: Nice work <WinKing>!

Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A former competitive chess player, now, about to become the Chessgames Bookie champion. It looks like a mirac...1-0!

Penguincw: Is Tata going to be the first tournament? And don't forget Pick 3!
Jan-06-12  technical draw: And <Dr. Strangemove> lands the 10th spot by 2 chessbucks!
Jan-06-12  TheFocus: Congrats to the Top 10!
Good betting, y'all.
Jan-06-12  WinKing: Thanks guys!!! I'd like to say it was skill that put me on top but not so...just pure luck. My big strategy was place money on the white pieces. I put 500 chessbucks on all players with white. Also played 500 on white-white-white & **100 on draw-white-white** which is the play that netted me **$6,754**.
Jan-06-12  technical draw: Amazing, the bookie doesn't have to change <Pyke>'s net worth for the championship leg. He is at exactly 10,000....

Penguincw: What I find somewhat annoying is that there are like 20 users a leg ending with 800 flat. They must've started at 1000 (like normal) and bet the max. on a ticket that ended up losing. After realizing so, they just give up. Weird...
Jan-06-12  wordfunph: <WinKing> coming from #20 before the last round and crowned as 2011 Fall Leg Champion whewwww!

hats off and congratulations to <WinKing> and all the winners! cheers!

thanks to my fellow players and to <CGBookie> for providing us a terrific contest.

see you all in the Championship..

Jan-06-12  technical draw: Right <wordfunph>, like they say , it ain't over til it's over!
