Penguincw: Nice stats <wordfunph>. I see you didn't take the easy way out.

In other news, the Loanshark should stop charging interest. The leg is over! I think it's discouraging the payment in the first place.

Chnebelgrind: Thanks <wordfunph>. Your work adds an extra zest to the the chessbookie game.
Jan-08-12  WinKing: Nice job on the stats <wordfunph>! It lets you really see who has done what in this game.

chessgames.com: The 32 qualifying players for the championship leg will start with 10,000 chessbucks. If you see any mistakes in this list, please let us know.

If you are NOT qualified, don't give up hope. We've seen people get very lucky in the championship legs, especially when the big rollers are making big bets, it's possible for the little guy to go from rags to riches.

Note that there are two possibly contentious inclusions. After examining ChessBookie Hall of Fame I noticed that in the 2011 Championship leg there were not 9 runner ups listed, but 11. The last two places were the concern: could it have been that their names were included just by accident? The players in question are <Calcium> and <Selkirk>. The bookie usually knows what he is doing, so perhaps there was a 3-way tie among edsauced/Caclium/Selkirk. I know edsauced finished with 10000 chessbucks--quite possible so did Calcium and Selkirk. I tried to find something posted about it, but didn't. In any case, their participation has been announced for an entire year at this point, so it would seem very unfair to suddenly claim that they are not qualified.

Penguincw: Everyone who did not start with 10,000 has 9K less and in 34th place. :-\
Jan-10-12  technical draw: My early bets are in. There are a lot of strong candidates for Tata A. So there could be some big payoffs. Tata C is a guessing game.
Jan-10-12  dakgootje: 10k is the most I've ever had!

I think I will cash out and enjoy vacation on some tropical island.

Jan-10-12  dakgootje: Unless I make no bets ;)
Jan-10-12  technical draw: Holy mackerel! I have RLS and I just found this:

<Also, a recent study indicated that dopamine agonists used in restless leg patients can lead to an increase in compulsive gambling. Dopamine agonists are used as a treatment because RLS.>

No wonder I'm hooked on chessbookie. Man, RLS and compulsive gambling, what a loser.

Jan-10-12  technical draw: <right now, i'm here in a chessbookie rehab center..>

At least I have a medical reason. My RLS is causing my compulsive chessbookie betting. Darn dopamine agonists!

Jan-10-12  TheFocus: Only dopes use dopamine.

I prefer Maker's Mark.

Jan-11-12  technical draw: My wife asked me, why do you gamble so much? I said, it's not my fault, I have RLS and the dopamine agonists cause compulsive gambling.

She filed for divorce today.

Jan-11-12  technical draw: <wordfunph> <right now, i'm here in a chessbookie rehab center..>

Some hair of the dog that bit you will cure you so place your bets!

Jan-11-12  TheFocus: <TD> <She filed for divorce today.>

Well, marriage is the biggest gamble of all.
