<Chnebelgrind> has a comfortable lead over the pack. However, these people do have more freedom than us 1000 starters, so they are more likely to put larger wagers on winners.

Jan-29-12  LDJ: I won a lot today (Ivanchuk-Karjakin, Caruana-Gelfand, Giri-Navara and a 30 bet on the pick three), the only bets that lost were a 2, a 2 and a 6 bet on the pick three. Also, I won the B group winner, so I'll be somewhere about my starting capital (1000 chessbucks) after today.

  Penguincw: Tata Steel: Quinella (A group) : Carlsen-Aronian [cash in ticket] 50 YOU WIN! COLLECT 98 7:2 4.37 98 Jan-29-12

Great. I wish the rules were that the odds we get for within reasonable distance, meaning if it's 4.37 and I stand to win 218, it should be around that. I'm starting to wonder if multiple payoffs are the greatest.

Jan-29-12  dakgootje: Pool of money gets divided between all winning bets. If there are several options - then several win, albeit smaller amounts. Can't conjure money out of nowhere. That would be inflation ;)

heh.. heheheh.. regained 4th-spot -- with an 8-c& advantage on 5th :P

Bookie is rich. He should be able to give. :) Well, I should look at the bright side, which is gaining 48 rather than losing 50. In total, I gained +1000 at Tata. Ready for next tournament.

chessgames.com: We're ready to make Gibraltar bets assuming we can find pairings enough in advance of the actual game.

I am assuming the page below will update sometime before round 7, or not?

Gibraltar Rd 7: Le Quang Liem-Labaty : Draw [info] 150 LIVE BET 7:4 2.66 399 Jan-30-12

I should learn to TRIPLE-CHECK my bet next time.

chessgames.com: <wordfunph: CG, LQL's opponent is GM Tamir Nabaty and not Labaty.> Apologies for the unintended misspelling. We will continue to honor the bets, of course.
Jan-30-12  technical draw: There's a big fight for that number 10 spot. And 10th is important because of this rule:

<Furthermore, the top 10 places of the Winter leg earn an automatic qualification into the following year's Championship.>

Jan-31-12  technical draw: I said once that it might take 55,000 cbs to win it all but I guess <Chnebelgrind> is going to glide in with less.

Chnebelgrind: <td> do you resign? Remember 2010 when <Sneaky> at this stage was far ahead with 31927. <Barok Espinosa> than has won the leg with more than 75000 two months later. To help you a bit I come down 2751 bucks today :-)
