Jan-31-12  technical draw: <Chenebelgrind> For some reason I thought the leg was going to end this week. Do you know when it will end?

Chnebelgrind: some day at the end of march. Up to now it used to end with the Amber tournament. But as far as I know, this tournament will not take place anymore.
Jan-31-12  technical draw: Thanks, <Chne> Still two months to go. Wow, that's a lot of bets.

Chnebelgrind: Schillers defeat was somewhat surprising for me. I was wondering if User: Eric Schiller had wagered a big sum on his defeat (what was not the case).
Feb-01-12  wordfunph: bull's-eye! <Switch> ehh! :(
Feb-01-12  LDJ: I made a 400$ profit because of the pick three yesterday. Was almost too late today, but fortunately I was able to place 3 bets just before the start of the round.

Feb-01-12  technical draw: Hey <Bookie> can you please tell the loanshark I DID NOT take out a 6000 cb loan. Please correct that as I'm being charged interest. Darn there are hustlers and scam artists even with play money!
Feb-01-12  technical draw: Forget it <Bookie> I paid it off and lost $50 in interest in the transaction. You owe me...

chessgames.com: For the Gibraltar Rd 10: SUPERFECTA! bet we are trying out a new way of displaying the choices. Instead of the normal pick-three style tickets ("DRAW-WHITE-BLACK") here you'll simply name the winners. For example, instead of calling it "black-black-black-black" we call it "Mamedyarov-Adams-Svidler-Kortchnoi". Furthermore, if the ticket says simply "Hou" then it will pay off only if Hou wins and all other boards are draws.

Although not usually the custom, for this wager 81 chessbucks were deducted from the Chessbookie's account to seed the options with a single chessbuck on each one.

Good luck!

Feb-01-12  wordfunph: <CG> seems exciting, thanks for the innovation..

Penguincw: Some tickets are paying off odds of 2029.00!
Feb-01-12  wordfunph: <fellow bookie friends> Superfecta is simply the transposition version of Pick 4. Let's get it on!

maybe in the future, if we run dry of Superfecta then Megaperfecta (or Pick 5) will satisfy our cravings for chessbookie addiction.

fight to our last chessbucks!

Feb-01-12  wordfunph: Superfecta may be the end of the dreaded DDD and maybe a thorn to our friend <Switch> haha! bad joke :)

i have now on my worksheet 24 possible Superfecta tickets but will trim it down to maybe 20. A $25 bet a ticket will cost me $500.

Penguincw: How large can the odds go?

< A winning 10 chessbuck ticket pays out 38110 chessbucks. >

Somebody could be really happy. :)

Yep. What I figured out is that if you win, you win the pool (after juice). Just like in YouRang's and lostemperor's. If you're the only one who got it right, you got the jackpot. :)

Feb-02-12  dakgootje: this can be fun :)

The only downside, as wordfunph mentioned, is that it costs a lot with even small tickets. Oh well, where would we be without risks ;)

Feb-02-12  dakgootje: heh, further problems with the superfecta:

there is a lot of value in the small chance-options, but you can't bet only a couple of c$ on it or you'll implode your own odds.

and it takes half an hour working through the whole bet ;)

but it's nice as variation!

Feb-02-12  wordfunph: <dakgootje: and it takes half an hour working through the whole bet ;)>

<dak> exactly!

patience will play a pivotal factor in winning Superfecta.

no patience...no chessbucks!
