Oct-12-12  dakgootje: <Mr. CheeseCookie> The pick-3 doesn't actually list any betable options yet.

--

In other news, "Mister Loanshark please don't smash my knees" would make for an interesting cat name. As opposed to, for instance, Tom, Kitty, or Romulus Augustulus the Third.

Oct-12-12  WinKing: Yo <Book> ya forgot the odds table on the Pick 3...again. :)

Chessgames Bookie: Sorry about the empty PICK-THREE, my error. I also accidentally put up some SPICE Cup pairings that were incorrect but no bets were placed so I just replaced them with the correct pairings.

There's also SPICE Cup Rd 3: DAILY DOUBLE ... with actual options to bet on.

Good luck!

Oct-14-12  Joules: I just joined and already love it. I made a few first bets on intuition alone. I then spent a couple of hours checking out the players in the SPICE 2012 tourney. Great fun and a terrific way for a newbie to introduce himself to tournament chess.
Oct-14-12  dakgootje: <Joules> those big Open tournaments are the most fun - as you'll find yourself rooting for players you'd previously never even heard of ;)
Oct-14-12  Joules: So much for beginner's luck! I bet the daily double against the draw and on the young Frenchman, MVL -- c'est la vie

Great fun nonetheless

Chessgames Bookie: Does anybody know if the SPICE Cup takes a rest day now?
Oct-16-12  wordfunph: <Chessgames Bookie> no restday..

http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/201...

Oct-18-12  brankat: Young Draw-masters don't need any rest :-)
Oct-18-12  brankat: No Pick-3 in round #7?
Oct-18-12  dakgootje: There's no need, it will only lead to DDD with SQ cashing in even more ;)
Oct-20-12  brankat: The results of round #8 still not "official"?

OBIT: For the Spice Cup bets, I think the closing times for the betting windows are off by 30 minutes. Round 10 starts at 11:00am St Louis time, and, if I am figuring the time correctly, the betting windows are set to close at 11:30.

Also, <gauer> is correct about the Pick 3. These are the pairings for the previous round.

Oct-21-12  brankat: Yes, the P-3 pairings are wrong. At the moment there is 9 hours left. Hopefully the Bookie will not sleep in :-)
Oct-21-12  brankat: So, what are we to do with P-3? It's now 45 minutes to go, and the pairings are still the wrong ones.

  SwitchingQuylthulg: <brankat> I'd suggest betting on Draw-White-Draw :)
Oct-21-12  brankat: I didn't bet at all. There is only about $1,200 in the pool. I assume the thing will be canceled. Thanks Bookie.

Besides, I don't think <Switch> needs any help :-)

Chessgames Bookie: On a more serious note, two players have been disqualified for strongly suspected multi-accounting.

One of them is <Assa S. Sin> and the other one is <VoodooVoodoo>. Their accounts are currently frozen. We've tried our hardest to contact them privately but since we haven't been able to communicate with them we are assuming that is a tacit admission of guilt.

They are welcome to make a statement here in their defense, although at this point I don't expect that to happen.

This also means that VoodooVoodoo is disqualified from the list of runners up from the previous leg, meaning that <AsosLight> (previously the 11th place finisher) is now considered qualified. Congratulations AsosLight.

What to do, if anything, with the 6000+ chessbucks being taken out of circulation is another question. If we divvied it up evenly, everybody would get a 60 buck bonus. Maybe as punishment we should force them to put all their money on the next Black-Black-Black pick three.

We are very sorry that some people attempt to cheat the system like this, but we're happy that we were able to catch it for the sake of the honest players.

Oct-21-12  wordfunph: thanks <CGB>, revision update of All-Time Bigwigs coming soon..

congrats <AsosLight>!

  Annie K.: Nice work. :)

Now, if those pick-3's are so difficult, I would suggest a simplified version, with just two choices: D-D-D and OTHER. Should work just fine... ;p

Oct-21-12  wallytherhino: The safe play would be giving everyone 60 chess bucks.
Oct-21-12  brankat: Good work Bookie!

Chessgames Bookie: OK, we've done it: all active players received a 60 chessbuck bonus. It was added directly to your account balance. (For those of you in debt, it was NOT deducted from your loanshark balance--if you want to pay back the loanshark with this windfall, that's up to you.)
