SwitchingQuylthulg: <Bookie> It's impossible to bet on the round 3 pick three, as no actual options are provided!

moronovich: Yup <Switch> is right.Something in pick-3 is frozen !
Jan-13-13  bubuli55: Somebody just killed the Carlsen-Van Wely bet :)

Chessgames Bookie: So sorry, my mistake on the pick three. Here's the working bet:

Tata Steel Rd 3: PICK THREE

Good luck!

Jan-15-13  Beholder: Wow, look at that, I'm actually above the Great and Terrible <Switch> on the leaderboard for now! I'm going to thoroughly enjoy every minute of it. After all, he will still get to #1 in the end, he always does...

SwitchingQuylthulg: I can hope, I can hope... :-)

Nice start <Beholder>, keep it up!

Jan-16-13  Beholder: Do I really need to keep it up? I'm thinking, if I just stop playing right now and sit on my hands (very difficult to do, from experience), wouldn't 19K+ be an excellent chance for a, say, top-5 finish? Possibly a decent chance even for #1?

Congrats,so far!
No 1 spot most likely not ,but for a top 5 I think it should be enough, and definately a top 1o.

SwitchingQuylthulg: Under the current system, it's always taken at least c$48K to win the Championship, and even that is no guarantee :) Even allowing that there seem to be less players now, it's extremely likely you'll need at least 40K - and probably quite a bit more - to grab the top spot.

For a top 10 finish, yes, c$19K will almost certainly be enough.

Jan-16-13  Beholder: <moronovich>, <SwitchingQuylthulg>

Ok, thanks for the opinions guys, guess I'll need to put some more effort into it :)

Chessgames Bookie: <SwitchingQuylthulg: <Bookie> Tata Steel Rd 6: DAILY DOUBLE currently features two round 8 games!> Ooops! Will correct shortly. Expect a refund on all bets.

Chessgames Bookie: Here's the corrected bet: Tata Steel Rd 6: DAILY DOUBLE. We picked the obvious games: 1. Harikrishna-Anand, 2. Carlsen-Sokolov.

For added excitement we also made Tata Steel Rd 6: Carlsen vs Sokolov FIRST MOVE. Please note that bet closes a full 30 minutes prior to game-time.

WannaBe: Why do I think Naka will get a bit over-confident, make a small error and Wang will make him pay for it?!
Jan-19-13  redribbon3700: Leko the favorite. Very suprising?!
Jan-21-13  rogge: Hi, <Bookie>!

I need my bucks for <Tata Steel Rd 8: Carlsen Karjakin FIRST MOVE>, please :)

Jan-21-13  rogge: Never mind. Since it's impossible to cash in the ticket (18:1), I'm out.
Jan-22-13  Beholder: It's hard work, piling up those chessbucks! Let's see... nope, still not enough. <Switch> says I need C$48K, must keep working then.
Jan-22-13  bubuli55: Nice betting < Beholder >. Congrats!
Jan-23-13  Beholder: <bubuli55> Thanks.

SwitchingQuylthulg: <Bookie> Yet another pick three we can't actually bet on :(

Tata Steel Rd 11: PICK THREE

Chessgames Bookie: Oh gee, I'm sorry. There's this little checkbox that I can click on to automatically put up all 27 wagers--easy as pie!--and yet like a dope I forget to click on it.

Anyhow, the corrected bet is now online. Sorry again.

Jan-27-13  Beholder: <Beholder: Wow, look at that, I'm actually above the Great and Terrible <Switch> on the leaderboard for now! I'm going to thoroughly enjoy every minute of it. After all, he will still get to #1 in the end, he always does...>

And he did.

Why don't we have a meta-bookie game? I'll bet on the <Switch> winning the bookie game, and when he does, I'll win the meta-bookie game.

Jan-27-13

Diademas: So lets say <Switch> ends up with 50.000 bucks and <Beholder> 49.999 bucks in the winter leg before the meta-bet is counted. If <Switch> wins the leg, <Beholder> wins 1000 bucks. Who than wins the leg?

Will the CeeGee server crash, and is this an example of the Russel Paradox?
