Mar-31-13  Xenon Oxide: Depending on the standings situation after this round ends, can we have a betting for the final round on "WHO WILL WIN THE TOURNAMENT", with the options being Carlsen or Kramnik (Aronian too if he still has mathematical chance).
Mar-31-13  Touch of Knight: Or could we have a betting on whether Chucky will lose on time?

After Carlsen-Ivanchuk, will Carlsen ever play 1. e4 again?!!?

Sneaky: In the press conference after his loss to Chuky, Carlsen said "I played horribly from move one..." so maybe you are right!

WannaBe: We need an over/under on the total moves for the non-Carlsen & Kramnik games. I got a feeling the combatants will agree to early draw to watch the other 2 boards.

SwitchingQuylthulg: Congratulations to <Chnebelgrind> and other winners! Let's hope this finally dispels the myth about non-qualifiers not having any chance in the Winter Leg :-)

Chnebelgrind: Lucky me! My 40k actually were enough for winning this! Many thanks <ChessBookie> for managing this fascinating game. Congratulations to all other qualifiers: <Beholder> and <Touch of Knight> and thanks sparing me in the final phase :-), <AnimusEtOblivio> and <crazybird> who made it to the top five as non-qualifiers like me. A special thankyou to <SwitchingQuylthulg> for your generous and fearless betting, when you were over 60k ( !). Also <moulicules>, GM <Natalia Pogonina> (obviously you anticipated the turmoil of Candidates rd 14), <Robin 01> the permanent qualifier and notably friend <moronovich>. And thanks to lady luck who assisted me especially when I had 20k on the line in the first Ivanchuk-Carlsen game.

Apr-01-13  crazybird: Thanks are due Ivanchuk for being the beacon of hope for the non-qualifiers like me who were hoping to extricate themselves from the misery of chessbookie poverty to the top 10 of the leaderboard.

Without his unpredictable streak, this surely wouldn't have been possible, or as much fun. So, thanks.

Congrats to the world champion <Chnebelgrind>

Natalia Pogonina: I might be wrong, but I had a bet on Carlsen for 3000 and it looks like the payoff was 3000+, while it should have been 6000+. Maybe the system rated Kramnik and Carlsen as equal firsts (unlike it says in the terms)? Anyway, great leg, congrats to all the winners :)

  SwitchingQuylthulg: <Natalia Pogonina> You are wrong ;-)

Perhaps you just forgot that 6K payout = 3K profit?

OhioChessFan: Anyone else sitting here thinking "If the only bet I'd made was to put $200 on the pick 3 and those 3 games in the last round, I might have finished 3rd"? The bizarre Candidates tournament made for some exciting moments. I still think the qualifier/nonqualifier difference is too big, but it's hard to argue with the success of many nonqualifiers.

But we had fun and that's what's important, right? Congratulations Chnebelgrind.

Chessgames Bookie: <Natalia Pogonina> I think Switchy is right, you must have been watching your "net worth" when the bet won. Our logfiles show everything is kosher.

The way it works: Before the end of a tournament a 3000 chessbuck bet on any player is regarded to have a 3000 value, for purposes of computing "net worth" and standings etc. So you won the bet and saw your cash go up by 6583 while your net worth only increased by 3583.
