Chessgames Bookie: World Cup rd 1.2: Judit Polgar-Ortiz Suarez was incorrectly paid out, we will reverse the payment and pay off the "draw" tickets instead. Sorry about it.

Please note that when we say "Round 1" we mean the entire first round: two classical games, then the tiebreaks if needed. That's why those bets don't have "draw" as a possibility.

The "Round 1.2" bets are specifically for today's games and will be paid out shortly.

Aug-13-13  The Last Straw: What happened with the bookies for the Round 2 matches? There's nothing to pick as an outcome.

Chessgames Bookie: You must have been looking while I was in the middle of setting them up. They are all working now as far as I know.
Aug-13-13  The Last Straw: Yes, it's working. Thanks.

Chessgames Bookie: Heads up: I will be out of town for a day, but plan on getting the bets set up from my hotel room. If bets are delayed today or payments are delayed tomorrow, I apologize in advance.

Chnebelgrind: World Cup rd 2.2: So-Tomashevsky : Tomashevsky [cash in ticket]

Thanks for the bucks but rd 2 game 2 was I draw I think

Aug-16-13  Beholder: <Thanks for the bucks but rd 2 game 2 was I draw I think>

Exactly.

Aug-17-13  thomastonk: <Chessgames Bookie> Are you going to correct World Cup rd 2.2: So-Tomashevsky? I think Chnebelgrind has a few of my bucks!

Chessgames Bookie: Sorry about that--<World Cup rd 2.2: So-Tomashevsky> was erroneously paid off as 0-1. A payment adjustment has been made as the correct result is 1/2-1/2.

For those who never have been through the process it means that if you had the winning ticket it will appear in your account as a winner. (This is true even if you threw your ticket away.)

For the Tomashevsky bettors, sorry, your winnings have been taken away. In the event that you already spent the money the Loanshark will put you down in his book for the difference.

Aug-18-13  SoUnwiseTheKnight B4: What about this one? You think So-Tomashevsky was the only mistake?? <<World Cup rd 2.2: Aronian-Lysyj : Draw [discard ticket]>> and also the Caruana 2.2 game was also drawn and not paid correctly.

chessgames.com: <You think So-Tomashevsky was the only mistake??> Yes we did think that. I'll have the bookie adjust the payments on those two bets ASAP. If there are any other payment mistakes please let us know at this time, thanks.
Aug-19-13  MarkFinan: Can you please tell me when i borrowed 700cb's from the loan shark, because i can assure you i don't owe him anything at all!! And for some reason a 500 bet on an Aronian game which you paid out has now been deducted from my winnings.. In fact they aren't the only 2 issues i have but they're the most important because they're the most expensive.. Il skip this round of betting till you've had a chance to look at my account.
Aug-19-13  SoUnwiseTheKnight B4: <And for some reason a 500 bet on an Aronian game which you paid out has now been deducted from my winnings..>

If this is the game in question your bet will stay deducted. <World Cup rd 2.2: Aronian-Lysyj : Draw> It might help to be aware of the results independent of the chessbookie's whims.

Aug-20-13  MarkFinan: Well this is the second day I'm asking for you to look at my account! Will you please tell me when i borrowed that money i didn't borrow??

SwitchingQuylthulg: <MarkFinan> See the Bookie's explanation from Saturday - he's talking about the Tomashevsky game, but it applies equally to the Aronian game:

<For the Tomashevsky bettors, sorry, your winnings have been taken away. In the event that you already spent the money the Loanshark will put you down in his book for the difference.>

Aug-20-13  MarkFinan: Ok i.understand that guys, that's been dealt with fairly but how did i borrow from the bookie?? I didn't! It just said..Loan 700 when i checked and i didn't borrow it..

Anyways i don't mind losing at the bookies fair and square but I've asked twice now and no reply so he can shove his imaginary loan up his cyber ass!

SwitchingQuylthulg: <MarkFinan> Please actually read what I wrote, and what the Bookie wrote:

<In the event that you already spent the money the Loanshark will put you down in his book for the difference.>

Aug-20-13  MarkFinan: And i didn't put 300 on Svidler to beat LQL today either, i put 150 on!

Chessgames Bookie: <MarkFinan> My apologies; I thought that the matter was cleared up. Yes, your loan was invoked because you must have cashed in a ticket that was erroneously paid off as a winner.

About your Svidler bet, I see two bets for 150 c$ about 15 seconds apart. My guess it was a double-click or some similar glitch. I can't refund that, so all I can say is good luck with that wager.

Aug-20-13  SoUnwiseTheKnight B4: <two bets for 150 c$ about 15 seconds apart. My guess it was a double-click>

I learned this too the hard way. Hit -place bet- once(!) and just wait. If the site response is slow and you hit -place bet- again thinking the first one didn't take, your just multiplying the original bet. As the backup singers for a 70s crime drama theme song sang, "Don't do it".

  Sneaky: Mark:

If you are still nervous about having 300 bucks ride on Sviddy, you could always buy insurance. Just place a small bet on Le Quang Liem in the tiebreaks.

Aug-21-13  technical draw: Sneaky <Sneaky> passed by me again and didn't even wave hello. I need Morovich to win it all to get on the board. (by the way Sneaky's advice is called hedging your bets)
