 | | Penguincw: Alright folks, the leaderboard has been updated, and <Switch> is running away, as he has more than twice as many chessbucks as 2nd place (syd), who almost has twice as many chessbucks as 3rd place (FSR). But can <Switch> hang on? He already knows the bookie will place one bet, so history may not repeat itself: Chessgames Bookie chessforum (kibitz #9470). https://web.archive.org/web/2015100... |

| Oct-04-15 | | sydbarrett: lol, good show. ::clap clap:: I bet Quahog and Tacobellgrande told each other to bet both extremes so that one would take me down. okay game on. I bet on Other as well for Cup Winner (that was my Wei bet). Not over yet. M might get in on that Svidler action... See you tomorrow... :D |
| Oct-04-15 | | sydbarrett: Svidler looking cheap right now. Or do I stay faithful to my horse. |

 | | Penguincw: I think the site went out for about an hour, but everything seems good now. However, if you want to bet on that one bet I have out, do it <NOW>, before it's too late. I wonder if I can set a record. The unofficial record for most cbs on a bet is Morozevich vs Carlsen, 2009 (84,901 cbs). The unofficial user record would be by <wordfunph>, as one computer vs. computer bet he had amassed over 62K. The record for this leg would probably be World Cup R7: Winner (48,272 cbs). |

| Oct-04-15 | | MarkFinan: <<sydbarrett: Svidler looking cheap right now. Or do I stay faithful to my horse.>> You've no idea how many times I've logged in here during this tournament thinking exactly that. But look where it got me? The butt of FRED'S jokes. Lol. I need to up my game at Xmas because I'm planning on winning. This leg was proof that you can be 300th with a minus balance one day and 10th the next, if I ever lose all my cb's again I'll just borrow off the loanshark for a week (800 a day!) and put it on the logical looking bets. Bet big win big, I guess. |

 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <Penguincw: I wonder if I can set a record. The unofficial record for most cbs on a bet is Morozevich vs Carlsen, 2009 (84,901 cbs).> That was broken by betting on the winner of the World Chess Championship Candidates (2014), with a total pool of c$87,300. |
| Oct-04-15 | | pitapino: <Mark Finan> Nothing personal. You posted your winning ticket. I needed something explained. This 'credit rating' is a load of horse manure but we are all playing by the same rules. Best of luck in the January leg. |
| Oct-04-15 | | pitapino: <Penguin> Not that I'm counting on anything but what is the qualifying bonus, I don't remember. |

 | | Penguincw: < pitapino: <Penguin> Not that I'm counting on anything but what is the qualifying bonus, I don't remember > Not sure what you're asking. If you make it in the top 10 of <any> leg just <once>, you start the next Championship leg with 10,000 cbs instead of 1,000 cbs. It does not matter if you finish in 10th once or 1st place 4 times; you will receive 10,000 cbs. No more, no less. |

| Oct-04-15 | | gauer: Do the 7th round World cup <play-off> games also go for a guaranteed more than 2 games (as like all the other play-off rounds)? Or do they only go to 2, before switching time controls again - the official page says that the round <seven> (regular) games go 3-4 minimum, before entering a new time control if the match is tied. Thanks. |

- If necessary, 2 more games, 10 10 time control
- If necessary, 2 more games, 5 3 time control
- If necessary, armaggedon, 5 min. for white, 4 min. for black, 3 seconds increment starting at move 61 |

 | | Penguincw: It looks I've already set the record for most outages in one leg. |
Oct-04-15
 | | FSR: I was just going to ask why you haven't had any bets on CG.com outages: will there be any outage today, for how many hours, etc. I'm sure these bets would get a lot of action. |
| Oct-04-15 | | AnimusEtOblivio: Never in my life have I rooted so hard for Svidler to win... ... never in my life have I been so disappointed in Svidler's ability to draw a game... |

 | | FSR: <AnimusEtOblivio> Join the club. |
Oct-05-15
 | | FSR: I estimate that I will finish with C$8,354. |
| Oct-05-15 | | wordfunph: I estimate that I will finish with -18,000. |
Oct-05-15
 | | FSR: There has been a late run of bets on Svidler (heaven knows why IMO, but I could be wrong). It looks like if Karjakin wins, as I expect he will, I'll finish with more than C$8,354 - C$8,583 based on the odds right now. |

 | | chancho: Don't count your chessbucks just yet. :-) |
| Oct-05-15 | | sydbarrett: Betting heavily on draw and on black Svidler in round 4 because it was possibly the final day and I had the large lead was the most regrettable thing I did all leg. I got too smart by trying to win whether White, Black or Draw was Round 4's outcome. For once I didn't bet my heart. I could have at *least* bet Karjakin white along with draw. I didn't think Svidler would win round 4 with black for one minute, but I didn't want to be beat by any of the 3 possible outcomes. Yes the $9000 jackpot I would get from a Karjakin cup win influenced me to not bet Karjakin round 4. But then I had no idea someone could or would leapfrog me by as much as Quahog did. It was important betting lesson that I needed to learn and that I'll keep in mind. I went all in on Karjakin this tiebreak round. |
| Oct-05-15 | | sydbarrett: What?? No updates or interest in the game at this point? I know people like Freddy have no shot at winning and don't care about the results, but just get it over with man! haha. Hope a new leg opens soon. Spending 15 minutes a day on this game helps me sharpen my analytical skills. Also forces me to look at GM games and improve my chessplayer skills |
| Oct-05-15 | | sydbarrett: And thanks to Penguin of course. You did a great job creating the bets. Some paid games get less support, and this game's free; what more can one expect than the effort you made. |
Oct-05-15
 | | Penguincw: I tried to access the site this morning, but it was down. So guys, quick. Who won the World Cup? chess24 only has 9 games up. D: |
Oct-05-15
 | | Annie K.: Karjakin |
Oct-05-15
 | | Penguincw: Thanks. And I believe there's also no underpromotion (but yes checkmate), and no armaggedon (please correct me if I'm wrong). |
