 | | cu8sfan: <<cu8sfan> Me, too. I picked up $2,165.> Well, I'm not such a big money player, I only bet 60. |

 | | Chessgames Bookie: Betting is open on the 11th round of the Olympiad. We have added the exotic "trifecta" betting proposition in which you can try to pick the result of the top three matches of the round for big winnings. 37th Chess Olympiad Rd 11: Trifecta

| May-31-06 | | technical draw: <cu8sfan> I put $500 on the Cuba/India tie. As you climb the ladder your bets have to grow cause the top leaders tend to freeze their bets so they won't lose their position in the ladder. The leader will make no bets if he thinks he can coast to a victory. This makes less money available in the handle and harder to climb the ladder. So if you want to win big pick a proposition with a high handle and bet the farm. |

| May-31-06 | | TrueBlue: technical draw, nice theory, but it is doesn't hold. You have to make your money work for you. You can't let it stay there and collect dust. But you are right for one thing. It is getting harder and harder to make money. Odds are crappy and people are not betting much. I want to put like 30K on a game, but can't get decend odds with that kind of bet. Most times, betting 1K and 30K gives you simmilar return, so why risk 30K?!?!? I hope chessgames bookie switches to fixed odds next round. |
| May-31-06 | | technical draw: <TrueBlue> What I mean is since you are 3rd on the list, numbers one and two can just wait it out, bet small or not at all, and hope you'll bet big and lose. This is standard gambling technique if money is not the reward but position is.
Of course if this were real money than you're right about having the money work for you, but remember the winner is the one that comes out first, regardless of the amount he winds up with. |
| May-31-06 | | technical draw: <TrueBlue> If you want a bet put 5 grand on Uzbekistan v Cuba and I'll cover it. |
| May-31-06 | | TrueBlue: technical, the worth of the top players has stedilly increased and continues to increase. What does this tell you? I don't see any of the top players freezing their bets. |
| May-31-06 | | TrueBlue: Uzbekistan vs. Cuba. Hmm, interesting but don't know enough about the teams to bet. I usually bet on Bulgaria and Topalov (what I know). But I think Cherepinov and Georgiev don't get along to well (Cheripinov is Topalov's boy and Topalov and Georgiev don't get along too well) and the ship is sinking. That's a shame because Topalov, Georgiev, Cherepinov and Delchev would have made an all star team. |
| May-31-06 | | technical draw: <TB> This gambling simulation is more like chess than true gambling..Strategy is whats counts to stay first. What about that bet? |
| May-31-06 | | TrueBlue: would also put all my money and more on Antoaneta Stefanova (huge fan of hers) but they don't have any bets on the women's games. |
| May-31-06 | | TrueBlue: td, if you know a winning strategy, let me know because I don't know one :) |
| May-31-06 | | technical draw: Money management strategy not picking winners. Pro gamblers really can't pick winners but they know how to spot a good proposition and know how to handle their cash. |
| May-31-06 | | TrueBlue: well, I am not a pro-gambler. Never gambled for real money and never will. |
| May-31-06 | | technical draw: Good for you. Of course you're personna non grata here in Las Vegas! |
| May-31-06 | | TrueBlue: technical, don't care much about your casinos, but I hear you have pretty girls over there :) |

 | | WannaBe: <technical draw> You're in LV? You already moved?? You'll be joining us for the Festival? (Don't have to play in the tourney, but come and hang out with us!) |

| Jun-01-06 | | percyblakeney: It is indeed getting harder and harder to make chessbucks. I miss those huge odds on draws from once upon a time, like Dembo-Muzychuk in the last round of the European Championship. Both players wanted to qualify for the World Championship which they did through a ten-move draw (Dembo's previous game was nine moves). The odds was much more than 3 times the money. I missed betting on it though. Now, for the next round in the Olympiad I've found a very good betting option, I'm just not sure how much to bet, could be much more than the 1000 I already have on it... |

| Jun-01-06 | | Doctor Who: I tried to play the game straight and look where it got me: nearly broke. If my trifecta doesn't hit today I'm hopping back in the Tardis. |
| Jun-01-06 | | Caissanist: I know it's not among the top 10 boards, but you really should open up betting on England vs. Scotland. |
Jun-01-06
 | | Chessgames Bookie: The very interesting England vs Scotland match has been added as a wagering option. 37th Chess Olympiad Rd 11: England vs Scotland |
| Jun-01-06 | | Caissanist: Thanks much, it'll be interesting to see what the odds are on that one. |
| Jun-02-06 | | Joshka: Anyone know the result of the Czech and Armenia battle today? |
| Jun-02-06 | | percyblakeney: <Joshka> 3-1 to Armenia. |
| Jun-02-06 | | Ezzy: Three wins in a row winning 600 chessbucks has got me some distance away from the loanshark. Nearly back to my original 1000 chessbucks. France beating China was my winning bet today! |
