Mar-24-16  Beholder: Wow, <Switch The Great and Powerful> is below me on the leaderboard!? Such a momentous occasion. I'll have to enjoy it while it lasts (which is not for long).

Chessgames Bookie: <Penguincw: Uh, Bookie, what happened here?>

Casualty of war. ;)

No, I notified <chessgames> already about that <Penguincw>. I thought I was paying a Round 11 UNDER/OVER but pulled the wrong one when paying the bet. I like posting rounds in advance but this is one problem that can happen if you are not extremely vigilant.

Chessgames Bookie: <FSR: When does the Championship Leg end?>

April 28th <FSR>. You have plenty of time to make up more ground. This leg is a marathon...pace yourself. :)

Penguincw: <Bookie> called the shot: World Chess Candidates Tournament Round 12 (Caruana - Aronian): OVER/UNDER. "OVER" <did> end up winning. Good thing I put some money on that.

Annie K.: OK Bookie players, if anybody would like to volunteer to take a turn at being Bookie and running one of the legs in the upcoming 2016 cycle, now would be a good time to say so! ;)
Mar-25-16  WinKing: Don't everybody jump at once to <Annie K.>'s offer. C'mon not one volunteer out there? The job isn't that hard & you get to see how the game really works. A once in a lifetime opportunity & your going to let it pass you by.

Annie K.: <WinKing> Hey, nice pitch, thanks! ;)

I might as well add that in my experience, while running the Bookie does take some time, it's not really much more time than it takes to play it. As a player (when I feel like being serious about it), :p I sometimes take more time to research the bets in an event than it would take me to set them up as the Bookie. :)

BTW, the ongoing Grenke Chess Open may be worth a few lines too: https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-t... http://www.grenkechessopen.de/en/

Mar-26-16  WinKing: I saw that Open(Grenke) <Annie K.>. The problem is there are two rounds per day only 6hrs between rounds & then you have to wait for pairings. I may pass on this one we'll see.

Annie K.: Oh, I see. I had one of these tournaments too, I only put up bets for the first round of the day. Not enough time to get a pool for the second one. :)
Mar-26-16  WinKing: <Annie K.> I may try to sneak in a game or two for the 8th round of the Grenke Open if I can find the time tomorrow. Very busy day with the family, Easter Sunday & all. I will be paying off bets a little later than usual tomorrow(Sunday 3/27).

FSR: Sneaky - that worked for me too yesterday, but today I foolishly bet 1400 on Giri to beat Topalov, which worked out less well.

Chessgames Bookie: Congratulatins to GM Sergey Karjakin on winning the Candidates Tournament! He won with an 8.5/14 score. GM's Caruana & Anand were tied for 2nd-3rd with 7.5/14 each.
