Annie K.: Thanks, <Switch>, no worries - I've been seeing nothing but exemplary behavior here for quite a while now. Probably a first on the internet. ;p

Have fun everybody! It's <Switch> in charge of exotics (which means the whole team events aspect), and he may also try to save y'all from getting too bored with all the regular betting you'll be getting from me the rest of the leg. Ready, set, go! :)

Oct-13-18  wordfunph: <Switch> <Annie> thanks..

let's get ready to rumble!

Oct-14-18  sydbarrett: Missed the first day of betting... too bad and sad for me because my betting style would have won 100-200 bucks with those results. AVE Novy Bor - Valerenga ending on "tie" today is like having the wheel land on "zero" in roulette... improbable. Syd getting angry >:(
Oct-15-18  sydbarrett: Oh no I forgot to bet in the early morning today. Surely Alkaloid will beat Mednyi (superGMs vs normal GMs). And the bet pays Alkaloid $2 per $1 bet. I hate to see more easy money pass me by :/
Oct-15-18  morfishine: <Chessgames.com> & the <Bookie> Very nice lineup for the fall leg! The World Championship adds an interesting spice to this leg!
Oct-16-18  SugarDom: I think I'm going to join the fray now.

Penguincw: < sydbarrett: Missed the first day of betting... >

Looks like a lot of people did. I'm currently in 12th place at 950. Hmm.

(and late congrats goes out to <4tmac>)

Oct-17-18  sydbarrett: I feel like I'm at the casino trying to win much needed money. This is stressful. But stress is... exciting.

Annie K.: Meh. Still no pairings out for IoM round 1, with 12 hours left. That means there won't be bets for round 1. Let's hope they get their act together for the rest of the tournament. :/

Chessgames Bookie: Isle of Man Round 2 bets are now open:

IoM Round 2: Wagner - Aronian
IoM Round 2: Anand - Hess
IoM Round 2: Wang Hao - Nihal Sarin
IoM Round 2: Leko - Praggnanandhaa

Oct-20-18  redribbon3700: Thanks wordfunph. Hope to see you in the Championship Leg.
Oct-24-18  sydbarrett: Hello Bookie Kramnik-L'Ami and Short-So are in the wrong (Pick Three) format

  moronovich: Hello !

There is a nice little match comming up.
What about putting up some bets !?

Last time it was a succes betting on the "running double". And the final score would also appeal to a broader audience.

Nov-06-18  morfishine: <moronovich> Complete agreement!

  WannaBe: WCC: Decisive Stage

I am guessing this bet is for when the Champ will be crowned??

The bet is not very clear and the description leaves much to be desired.

Chessgames Bookie: Betting on the first game of the World Chess Championship is now open!

WCC rd 1: Caruana - Carlsen
WCC rd 1: Caruana - Carlsen: Over/Under

Carlsen - Caruana World Championship: WINNER
WCC: Decisive Stage
WCC: Carlsen's First Move With White
WCC: Caruana's First Move With White
WCC: Standings after 2 games
WCC: Early decisive game?

Good luck everybody, and have fun! Any suggestions for bet types people would like to see in the next rounds will be welcomed.

----

<WannaBe> We apologize for the terseness of the descriptions and the delays in setting the bets up. <Annie> is currently in hospital and was in no mood or condition to include detailed explanations when she opened the WCC markets. I will be filling in for her until she gets better.

That said, "Decisive Stage" ought to be self-explanatory. Yes, that bet is for when the Champ will be crowned.

  Annie K.: Thanks everybody. :)

OK, time to start thinking about PayDay. I reckon halfway through the WCC match, on the Saturday 17th rest day, would be a good time to run it.

Chessgames Bookie: <juan31> Did you have a bet on <1.e4 c5> that has vanished or didn't pay as a winner?

  juan31: I beat : 1. e4 other, then i'am wrong ?
Nov-15-18
Premium Chessgames Member
Chessgames Bookie: As far as I can tell, game 5 opened 1.e4 c5; so 1.e4 Other is a losing ticket. 1.e4 Other would pay if White opened with 1.e4 and Black did not respond with 1...c5.
