Feb-20-19  morfishine: Nice pop by <moronovich>!

I can only imagine what his bet was since I was salivating over 2 bets: a 9 & 8K payout, but neither came through

Chessgames Bookie: Ok listen up everyone playing in the Bookie game. Coming up on Saturday, February 23rd, there will be two Rounds played(4th & 5th) in the Aeroflot Open 'A' tournament. This is the make-up round for the one missed due to the bomb scare. The organizers have sped up the time controls so they can get two rounds in on Saturday. Also, from the information I have the 4th round will have a 5½ hours sooner start time. This means it will start at 09:30hrs Moscow time(9:30am GMT+3) & 01:30hrs <chessgames> time(1:30am EST). The 5th round starts seven hours after Round 4 meaning it will start at 16:30hrs Moscow time(4:30pm GMT+3) & 08:30hrs <chessgames> time(8:30am EST). I hope I have all of this straight.

I will not have enough time between rounds 4 & 5 to put up bets for Round 5. There will not be much time as it is to get your bets in for Round 4(probably less than 12 hours). Stay tuned for any last second updates or changes. (*Bookie shakes his head*)

Chessgames Bookie: Bets are posted for Round 4. This round starts earlier than the the three previous rounds. Picks must be in by 09:30hrs Moscow time(9:30am GMT+3) & 01:30hrs <chessgames> time(1:30am EST).
Feb-22-19  morfishine: Hey <Chessgames Bookie> how bout a few exotics for round 5 just to keep things interesting and to tide us over til things return to normal? We understand the time crunch problem with the make up round

Chessgames Bookie: <morfishine: Hey <Chessgames Bookie> how bout a few exotics for round 5 just to keep things interesting and to tide us over til things return to normal?>

Like what <morf>? We have no idea of the pairings or anything. You mean like a 'coin flip' type of bet? I'll be in bed by the time they come up with pairings for round 5. The Bookie does need sleep contrary to what some here may think.

Feb-23-19  morfishine: Sorry <Chessgames Bookie> I was thinking along the lines of longest game, shortest game, long castle(s), decisive games, etc., that are possible in, lets say a 12-man single round robin format where the pairings are not required. I forgot this was an open and its just not feasible!
Feb-23-19  morfishine: Great bets <Chessgames Bookie> for Sunday! The best of luck to all of you!

Chessgames Bookie: Thanks <morf>. I want you to know I tried to think of a way to get bets up for Round 5 today but there just wasn't enough time between rounds 4 & 5. I feel like our members that play this game got cheated out of a round. Who would have thought a bomb scare would put a chess tournament on hold? Fortunately it was only for one day. :/

Chessgames Bookie: I see a nice Pick 3 'brewing' out there for round 6. Makes me wish I was playing & in the thick of it.
Feb-24-19  morfishine: <Chessgames Bookie> I'm having a lot of fun with this tournament just pulling the bios of the players you feature in wagers. Its astounding to see how many extremely young players are entered in Aeroflot. For example, Nodirbek Abdusattrov Nodirbek Abdusattorov is a mere 14 years old! And he's doing well climbing onto the leaderboard after 4 draws and this 3rd round victory: N Abdusattorov vs V Kovalev, 2019

There's a whole slew of players in the 20 - 22 years old range leavened with some 30 & 40+ yrs old "vets". This is a very enjoyable field to follow!

Chessgames Bookie: I totally agree <morf>. Aeroflot rarely disappoints. A lot of talent at this tournament.

We had a few big winners today <DWOB>. The Leaderboard is getting a workout.

Feb-26-19  Dr Winston OBoogie: Hi Mr Bookie.. I know, I see <moronovich> right at the top <again>. Morf's having a good go too. I just wondered - this is the championship leg so do you actually win something for coming in the top 10 or is it the #1 spot or nothing?

Btw. You can see my "strategy" so I'm just winging this like Trump did in 2016, lol 🤷‍♂. I think I've qualified for the championship leg twice before but I came 11th. Such is gambling :)

I have not been informed yet by <chessgames> as to what will be given out for this Championship Leg.
