Chessgames Bookie: Hi moronovich, I'm jingohanson, the new Bookie. The Pick two is for day four of the event, with the games I posted. Sorry about the confusion. I should have put (Day 4) in the description. Thanks for welcoming me. Your suggestions are welcome. Ciao, jingohanson

Oct-17-20  jingohanson: The payday question is a good one. As acting Bookie, and still in training really, that is something, along with several others, that I do not know how to do. Annie K. is no longer supervising and she handled things like that.

I notice that a few people could use the cash.

Cheerio, jingo

Oct-19-20  mike1: Any possible bets on the US Championships ?
Oct-20-20  technical draw: I thought this leg was over and I had won. Now it looks like I have to fight the Messiah to win. Heaven help me.

Usually payday is at the halfway point of the leg, so it should happen sometime around now. Maybe wait until the 26th to allow people to bet on the first set of US Championship wagers.

<I do not know how to do> I'm sure there's a script you can run. I remember reading here about a bug in it where someone with a 1000cb balance would not receive pay, even though they had placed bets in the leg.

Maybe one of the experienced bookies here can give you a pointer. Otherwise, I think you should ask <Annie K>.

Chessgames Bookie: Oops. Looks like the organizers of the Tegernsee Masters changed the line-up, substituting Nguyen for Bartel. What should I do? I can cancel the bet or pay Bartel if Nguyen wins. Would those who bet on Bartel weigh in here? Thanks.
Oct-31-20  rough sleeper: I put about half the money on Bartel, my vote is to cancel the bet.

Chessgames Bookie: I was able to refund the bets of those who bet on Bartel.

Chessgames Bookie: Now apparently Keymer has dropped out. I'm cancelling two bets, one on the number of draws and the other a PICK Two. I'll refund winner bets on Keymer. Tough times for over-the-board players.

Yes, Annoying Face reportedly has been in contact with someone having COVID-19.

Nov-03-20  morfishine: <Bookie> How about raising the maximum bet? 200 CB's seems a bit smallish
Nov-03-20  mike1: Any more bets from/ for Tegernsee Masters?
Still plenty to choose from!

The maximum bet rules are described here ChessBookie Game Help Page and <As your net worth grows, and as your "rating" with the bookie increases (i.e., you place more bets), he will allow larger wagers from you.> It might be complicated for the bookie to tinker with those limits, especially in the middle of a leg.
Nov-04-20  morfishine: <beatgiant> I had no idea, thank you for the information
Nov-06-20  technical draw: What do I have to do to get some breathing space from <rough sleeper>? This reminds me of the movie "Top Gun" when Maverick says, "I can't get him off my tail!"
Nov-07-20  rough sleeper: <technical draw> I'm all over you like a blanket over a hobo, like a hobo over a can of beans! yummy by the way
Nov-07-20  technical draw: <rs> Let's not get complacent. In the last rounds players go all in and another "sleeper" might just pass us both.

moronovich: Dear Bookie : When will this leg end ?

Thanks in advance.

Nov-08-20  jingohanson: I wish I knew how to end the leg, how to have a payday, how to increase limits. Annie K. left Chessgames. She recommended I contact Sargon for assistance. As you can see from a message I sent him above, I don't know what to do. If any one of you old-timers has a suggestion, please let me know. About all I can do is set up and pay off bets. Do any of you know an administrator?

But unfortunately the User: SwitchingQuylthulg profile indicates that the user has quit chessgames.com so you're left with penguincw and wordfunph.
Nov-08-20  rough sleeper: i might be mistaken but i believe user <WinKing> was also once a bookie.
Nov-08-20  technical draw: <rough sleeper> I see you have taken the lead. But not for long (I hope).
