Chessgames Bookie: There's a wide variety of bets available for tomorrow's World Championship game:

How will Topalov choose to debut the match with White? Wager on it here World Chess Championship: Rd 2. FIRST MOVE

How long will the game last? World Chess Championship: Rd 2. LENGTH

Will either player castle queenside? Here's a simple YES/NO proposition that lets you wager on that: World Chess Championship: Rd 2. LONG CASTLE?

And of course, you can bet on the winner here: World Chess Championship: Rd 2. Topalov-Kramnik

Good luck!

Sep-24-06  Nikita Smirnov: When will the bet come on who wins the whole match?
Sep-24-06  Elixir of Life: What the? in the World Chess Championship: Rd 2. FIRST MOVE, 1.Nf3 has an odd of 27:1? Pretty good.
Sep-24-06  Elixir of Life: <Nikita Smirnov: When will the bet come on who wins the whole match?>

That bet is already closed.

Sep-24-06  Nikita Smirnov: Thanks!
Sep-24-06  refutor: i'm happy that krammy is winning 2 games to nil, but man he's costing me a lot of chessbucks...another trip to the bookie ;)
Sep-24-06  Sannder: Hi,

Just a quick question:
With a Net Worth of 2,272 at the moment, should I not be placed fourth on the leader board? Or am I missing something about the way the leaderboard is determined?

Thanks very much, enjoying the game,
Sannder

Sep-24-06  Elixir of Life: <Sannder>

The leaderboard refreshes everyday.

Chessgames Bookie: Of course, with a two point, lead Kramnik is now the overwhelming favorite. But the die-hard Topalov fans can still bet on him here:

World Chess Championship: WINNER

Betting closes before the start of round 3 on Tuesday. Good luck!

Sneaky: Topalov could have played a smart-alek underpromotion today with 31.gxf8=♖+ (it cannot be refused, so it's just as good as taking a ♕) but decided not to get cute. Topalov vs Kramnik, 2006

WannaBe: Alright, I'm ready to blow my chess bucks now!! Here I come!
Sep-25-06  Bob726: On the betting for kramnik-topalov game 3 first move, it says:

1.e4
2.d4
Other

Shouldn't it be 1.d4 instead of 2.d4?

Chessgames Bookie: Right Bob, that was a typo. Thanks.
Sep-26-06  Elixir of Life: d4 played! Finally, I got a win with my bookie thing.

Chessgames Bookie: In addition to the World Chess Championship Rd 5: Kramnik vs Topalov bet, we have some exotics as well:

World Chess Championship Rd 5: First Two Moves - Similar to the "First Move" bets we've had in the past, you have to decide on the first two half-moves of the game. The choices are 1.d4 Nf6, 1.d4 d5, 1.e4 c5, 1.e4 e5, 1.Nf3 any, 1.c4 any, and 'OTHER'.

You can bet on the length of the game with World Chess Championship Rd 5: Over/Under 50 moves. I picked 50 as the cutoff point. If you think the game will end under 50 moves, bet the UNDER ticket. If you think it will be 50 moves or more, bet the OVER.

For those who enjoy longshots, try the long castling bet: World Chess Championship Rd 5: Long Castling? You win if either player moves O-O-O.

This one should be self-explanatory, and fun: take a guess at who will deliver the first check in Friday's game: World Chess Championship Rd 5: First Check.

Sep-28-06  gauer: An interesting wager would be to see whether there are any readers out there who think that the Topalov bathroom detective team scheme against Kramnik will actually work out for one or another's favour would really be something worth betting on. Even better than the coin-toss (colour-selection) idea that came up earlier.
Sep-28-06  sofistis1: what about kramnik's cheating, I bet my money on Topalov only to see him loose by cheating

Sneaky: Mister Bookie, What happens to all our bets if Topalov drops out of the match? Are they all treated as if Topalov loses, or is it a refund situation, or what?
Sep-29-06  VargPOD: ChessBookie, what about the bets on Round 5 of World Championships? Are they refunded or does Topalov win by default? And what about the other bets (opening move etc.)?
Sep-29-06  kellmano: With regards to opening moves, surely it's 'other' that wins. No-one castled long, no checks and a topa victory.
Sep-29-06  strifeknot: I would suggest leaving all bets in place and wait to see if game 5 is replayed tomorrow if some agreement can be reached to the satisfaction of both parties after further deliberation.
Sep-29-06  Sannder: This is not cool, I have 2000 chessbucks on the line here.........
Sep-29-06  sofistis1: I won today where is my money?
