Mar-03-07  barbababa: <when Svidler have white, he is +1 -0 =16 against Anand> +1 -0 =11 without rapid/blindfold games.

<When Topalov whave white, he is +7 -4 =8> +1 -4 =5 without rapid and blindfold games.

Mar-03-07  percyblakeney: <+1 -4 =5 without rapid and blindfold games>

So Topalov joins Aronian in the group of players with problems against Ivanchuk... It's been a while since those losses though, Topalov has won the last 5 decisive games but those were not with classical time controls. In the 90's Ivanchuk had very good results against Topalov.

Mar-03-07  barbababa: <percyblakeney>Topalov has bad statistics against the top players (Kasparov, Kramnik, Anand and Ivanchuck) like almost everybody.
Mar-03-07  barbababa: From 1000 to 21000!! Well done TIMER!
Mar-03-07  TIMER: <barbababa> Thanks. I felt that I should have won an earlier leg if I had not got reckless let alone finishing top ten (I actually lead two of them) so was frustrated at not starting with the 10,000, but maybe if I manage to win despite the handicap this time it will not look such a bad thing! Anything can happen still though, and we have some way to go to catch the leader...

Get you ready for Tuesday's games.

Aronian-Leko: Aronian leads it overall with +2 -1 =5, but if you discount the Rapid/Blindfold, the record is +1 -1 =4. When Aronian have white, he is +0 -0 =3, Excluding Rapid/Blindfold (E.R.B.) against Leko. And all 3 games were Queen's Indian. Their game in the first half of the tournament resulted in a draw: Leko vs Aronian, 2007

Morozevich-Anand: Anand leads it +7 -4 =5 (E.R.B.), When Moro have white pieces, he is +2 -3 =2 (E.R.B.) Their first game resulted in a win for Anand: Anand vs Morozevich, 2007

Carlsen-Ivanchuk: Carlsen leads it with +1 -0 =1, the draw game is not in database. Carlsen won the game played in Mexico: Ivanchuk vs Carlsen, 2007

Svidler-Topalov: Dead tied at +6 -6 =11 (E.R.B.) when Svidler have white, he is +4 -4 =4. Their game in the first half of the tournament resulted in a draw: Topalov vs Svidler, 2007

Mar-05-07  percyblakeney: Moro has had OK results against Anand, I think he's 2-3 down or something like that after having white in just a third of their games. Most of their previous encounters (like Kremlin Cup and Fujitsu Siemens Giants) are rapid if I'm not mistaken.
Mar-06-07  Troglodyte: <Chessgames Bookie>, On the bets for Linares 11th Rd in <Morozevich vs Anand: Opening>, does <1.d4 (any)> include 1. Nf3?

Topalov - Carlsen: They are tied at +1 -1 =0, when Topalov have white, he won in 2007 Corus: Topalov vs Carlsen, 2007 their game in the first half of the tournament resulted in a win for Carlsen, when Topalov resigned in a drawn game: Carlsen vs Topalov, 2007

Chessgames Bookie: We have a new kind of exotic bet, "Shortest & Longest." Try to predict which game will be the shortest, and which will be the longest.

Linares-Morelia: Rd 12: Shortest and Longest

Note that by "shortest" and "longest" we refer to the number of moves played, not by the time spent on the wall clock.

WannaBe: Anand better beat Aronian, and avenge his earlier round loss to him.

Plus it would make me a lot of chess bucks! =)

  WannaBe: Mr. Bookie,

for Linares-Morelia: Most Moves bet, if Ivanchuk have the most moves, will all bets be refunded? Or you'll pay the second "most" moves?

Mar-07-07  percyblakeney: <Latest number of moves:

Svidler 407
Aronian 410
Anand 449
Carlsen 474>

The four players with the lowest number of moves are also the four players in the upper half of the tournament...

Mar-07-07  RonB52734: Lady luck has once again elbowed <TIMER> in the solar plexus, I see. But with 1,000 chessbuck starts, <nonatov> and I still have an outside chance at the ring. Knock on wood. (Ouch, that was my head!)
