Annie K.: <Chessgames Bookie> Would it be possible to insert a FEN diagram of the position into the Shulman move bets pages to make it easier to consider the choices offered to those not actively participating in the game?

Having to click back-and-forth between the game link and the bet page is not very user friendly.

Jun-13-07  YouRang: <Annie K.: <Chessgames Bookie> Would it be possible to insert a FEN diagram of the position into the Shulman move bets pages to make it easier to consider the choices offered to those not actively participating in the game? >

Nice idea!

Jun-13-07  whiteshark: <Annie K.>

Fortunately no family relationship to <Loany>.

As this was my first active season with zero bucks left I realise that I bet on results that I was hoping for.

It seems to be not the best way ( i.e. poor behavior)

Rethinking on strategy I have 2 ideas:

1) Betting with the mainstream with marginal profit or 2) the opposite of it (betting on outsider with a maximum quotation (if it wins)).

What do you think about these strategies ??
Take one, I'll take the other ?!

Jun-13-07  protean: Is "Fredrik" taking performance-enhancing drugs? He's a monster at this game.
Jun-13-07  zanshin: <protean: Is "Fredrik" taking performance-enhancing drugs? He's a monster at this game.>

That's what I was thinking. The guy should go to Vegas.

Jun-14-07  pawnofdoom: Why isn't the Yury Shulman Move 41. ? bet displayed in the "what's hot" section? it only appears in the "open events" section and no one has bet on it as of now
Jun-15-07  pawnofdoom: never mind I see it now
Jun-16-07  Chess Classics: Whoops, mouse-slip led to me investing my last 101 c/bucks on Maya Chiburdinaze...we'll see how this turns out.

Regards,
CC

Jun-16-07  Raskolnikov: <Chess Classics> How large is the projective payout?
Jun-16-07  Chess Classics: 2770, but still, probably not the wisest investment.

BTW I love your handle, I just finished Crime and Punishment.

CC

(Hoping there will be 'actions' available =)

Dortmund (2007) Round 1

<Gelfand - Alekseev>: They have met 3 times, with 3 draws, once, did Gelfand have white, the other games E. Alekseev had white. (Of, course... =)

<Mamedyarov - Naiditsch>: Mamedyarov lead it with +3 -1 =2, when Mamedyarov have white, he is +1 -0 =1 against Naiditsch.

<Carlsen - Leko>: Leko have a lead of +1 -0 =2, (discounting the 2 draws for Amber Blind & Rapid) when Carlsen have white, he is +0 -0 =2 against Leko.

Jun-22-07  zanshin: On the Shulman bet, you spell his name both "Yury" and "Yuri". I think he spells his name with a "y".
Jun-22-07  MostlyAverageJoe: Hey, shouldn't Yuri Shulman vs The World: 43. ? be reopened yet?
Jun-22-07  mikejaqua: Hey! There's no way to bet on the overall Dortmund winner. Is this because the tournament overlaps the end of the Spring leg?

Chessgames Bookie: We want to clarify this -

The Spring Leg ends on the 27th (Wednesday).

That means that all bets will be paid off by that day and no bets will be offered with a payoff date beyond the 27th.

Therefore, the last day of BETTING is the 26th. The 27th is simply the day when you get paid on your winning tickets, toss away the losers, and we recompute the final standings of the leg to determine the winners and the 10 qualifying players. So Wednesday is technically the last day of the Spring Leg, but for betting purposes Tuesday (tomorrow) is your last chance to change your standings.

Sorry if there was a slight confusion regarding the exact end of the leg.
