 | | Domdaniel: Evening, all.
Thanks for that water, Mr. Lark. I needed that.
My apologies, folks. As Mr Dylan sez, I hadda go to the woods for a while. That's probably some kinda metaphor. In practice, I just went a few days without turning a computer on, to see what it was like. I passed the time by reading, writing, and -- hadn't done this for years -- playing through chess games the old-fashioned way, on a board. But I missed you all. So I came back.
I suspect that *everyone* here is nicer than I am, but never mind ... Thanks for keeping the place operational, btw. |

 | | Domdaniel: PS -- what's this "hell" that broke out, then?
*sniffs around voyeuristically*
Do voyeurs sniff? |

May-31-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dominus>!! Welcom back!!! the <hell> is in <Wilson> forum and my <forum>. Just scroll back 40 pages or so in each to see the <monkey business> plus an epic battle between <danielpi> and <Plato>. What you bin up to??
I want a full report!!
If it's XXX rated, just email it.

| May-31-07 | | WBP: <Dom> Please don't leave again. You left us high and dry, when what we really want to be is low and wet. |
|
May-31-07
 | | Domdaniel: <Jess> -- <a game in which I believe I resigned on move 8.> My very first competitive chess game -- when I was allowed, with some reluctance, to play on the bottom board of my school team -- ended when I was mated in six moves. But we pick ourselves up, don't we? They gave me a second chance, even more reluctantly, and I won every other game and was top board by the end of the year. Goes to show. Or something. |
|
May-31-07
 | | Domdaniel: <Jess> Did you say "forty" pages? Er. Nothing much to report. Time flies when you're inert. I was. Read some books, though. And wrote some stuff. |
|
May-31-07
 | | Domdaniel: <Bill> Heh. But isn't it in the nature of frogs to be low and wet? |
|
May-31-07
 | | Domdaniel: <Jess> Wow. You and <Chessmoron> really have been piling on the, er, pounds. |
|
| May-31-07 | | chessmoron: I'm exhausted for competing with her. I was right about her forum on the first page...her forum will fly over the roof with hundreds and hundreds of pages. |
|
May-31-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: I surrender! |
|
May-31-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <dom> creative writing or for work? Course your work writing is pretty creative. Not to mention pretty. YOU LUSTER!

 | | Domdaniel: <"our computer has selected you... blah blah"> I'm with Eyal on this one. I tend to hang up quickly. I'd <like> to play with them, bamboozle them, shake their faith in capitalism or zoroastrianism or ut'napishtim or whatever they happen to believe in. But in practice they're just a hassle, so I don't. We just had an election here. Some politicians still believe that ringing doorbells increases their chances of getting votes. The fools. I realized that I don't have politics, I have aesthetics: the only thing I really object to is stupidity. And there's an awful lot of it about. |
|
May-31-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: What about <beautiful stupidity>? Jessica Gump |

 | | Domdaniel: <achieve> -- <In Paris, innerviewing a lovely lady? > Ahh.
For some obscure reason, this *never* happens. Paris seems to keep me at arm's length. Two of my former girlfriends live there, which could be the reason. |

| May-31-07 | | Ragh: <Dom: My very first competitive chess game.. ended when I was mated in six moves.
They gave me a second chance, even more reluctantly, and I won every other game and was top board by the end of the year. Goes to show. Or something.> <message delivered and understood> <jess> This is just a 'tip of the iceberg' of the competitiveness of a man you (and conan) were up against last week, conspiring to dislodge him from his number 3 popular forum spot. The king returns to thwart those attempts off and defend his position. |
|
May-31-07
 | | Domdaniel: <twinlark> ... uh, if my forum was just about to fall *off* the edge of the world ... does that mean that it's been *in* the world, all this time? Oh god.
PS. Just read Peter Carey's True History of the Kelly Gang. Bloody great. |
|
May-31-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dom> I started a rumor that you were in the <south of France interviewing Uma Thurman>. I also started a rumor that you are rightful heir to the <English Throne>, but damned if I'm gonna scroll back 500 pages to find it. |
|
May-31-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Doggimus> has been active here and in the <Blako> forum. You'll be pleased to know that <Bill> has given both his <socket puppets> their own forum, that a <slomarko> clone was arguing with <the real slomarko>, but there does seem some hope of a Constitutional Settlement. <Dom> That <Austrialian Western> written by <Nick Cave> that I was touting- It's based (very loosely) on the <Kelly saga> |
|
| May-31-07 | | chessmoron: User: sIomarko User: slomarko2 The slomarko thing is just plain silly. |
|
May-31-07
