 | | jessicafischerqueen: Yes, but it could have been her famous "silent drum" performance of 1972 in which she used cooked spaghettini noodles instead of drumsticks. I never saw any of them live, but I think someone should have had a "heart to heart" with John about his facial hair. Tres declasse, if you ask me.

Well I could try... |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: WEll i'm off to sleep gentlemen.
If I wake up teaching a bunch of Asian kids, this must be Korea... Bon nuit, Mr. Fawlty!! |
|
| Oct-04-07 | | JoeWms: Dom, I posted you on my less-crowded forum.
|
|
| Oct-04-07 | | WBP: Hey <Dom>. I never fail to look in to see what's going on in your House of
Magic, and never come away without a laugh or two.
Winding down after the World Championship tourny. Following those games became nerve-wracking at times, especially that Grischuk-Anand game. Funny thing, I was looking through a collection of older games the other night, and I discovered that Nimzowitsch (alternative spelling; not sure what's correct--could be Nimzovich,no?) opened many games with 1 e4. This caused me to consult the Chessgames database, and I discover that this was by far his favorite opening for white, but that 9and this is what's intersting) his winning p-ercentage with it (%44 and change) was marginally lower than several other openings he sometimes used (including 1 e3). I always assocaited the hypermoderns with more "closed" openings (perhaps recalling Breyer's famous line about 1 e4). I just found this intersting. |

 | | Domdaniel: G'night, Jess. OK, Joe, thanks. Afternoon, Bill. Gosh, this place gets busy sometimes. |
|
| Oct-05-07 | | achieve: <Jessica> < I can't hammer a nail in the wall with your Hamster!> Is that an original? Anyway, I like it. It's hard to hit a nail in the wall with almost anything, except a (good) hammer or a brick. (I was a physics buff as a kid) |

 | | jessicafischerqueen: heh no it's a line from <Fawlty Towers>. <Stonehenge> appears to know his <Monty Python and Fawlty Towers> by memory. Regards,
JFQ |
|
| Oct-05-07 | | achieve: Then why didn't you say so in the first place!!! (You're really making me angry- did you know that?) |
|
Oct-05-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Well I'm not sure. I normally type whatever pops into my head at the moment. what are you doing up in the middle of the night again? Is <Lars> asleep?
Does he have a special <wiener dog> deluxe bed? I need answers... |

Oct-05-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Hey <Niels> it's the weekend here and since I made my "comeback" winning that <Sicilian> against a strong player the other day, I'm all fired up again. I've been looking at the recent posts in the <World v. The Great Jan Timman> Correspondence game, and there's a very interesting argument about computer v. human analysis at this juncture of the game-- they are about to enter the Middle Game, meaning committal moves, and it is a very interesting Dutch. Take a look and let me know what you think of the position if you have time. Regards,
JFQ |

| Oct-05-07 | | achieve: <Jess> It's middle of the mmmmorning in this fforsaken place. Lars has an <Auping Lit-Jumeaux> and he is resting now -- we played pull-the-towel this morning and I didn't want to lose...!!! |
|
| Oct-05-07 | | achieve: <Take a look and let me know what you think of the position if you have time.> I'll switch to your forum to answer that (might take a minute) |
|
Oct-05-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Ok then. I'm still reading through the computer analysis arguments on the last two pages. Very fascinating discussion.
I wish I had a <Aupin Li Jumewsx> bed!! No fair!! |
|
| Oct-05-07 | | achieve: See, Dom? We've taken you to a Maximum followed by a Century - O'Sullivan style! |
|
Oct-05-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Niels>: no time, I'll explain in the car. I've left a message for you at my house.

Oct-05-07
 | | Domdaniel: <achieve> Thanks -- next stop, a century (100) plus meta-maximum with free ball and 16th red + black (155) = 255, yes? Ordinary maximums are so, well, common.
Don't look at me. I had a break of 24 once. |
|
Oct-05-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: <Dom> we need your opinion on the current <great Jan Timman game> position. Report to my house if yer interested.
Regards,
JFQ |
|
| Oct-05-07 | | achieve: <Dom><Don't look at me. I had a break of 24 once.> Then 271 will be the next next stop. Stay seated, though. Mine is 74 . My mom's 68. |

| Oct-05-07 | | mack: This is a Frogspawn pronunciation update, brought to you by Chessbase: <The town of Khanti-Masnsiysk is located about 1400 miles (2250 km) east of Moscow, just north of Kazakhstan. The pronounciation of the name is roughly "kanty-mansisk", with the first part rhyming with "hunty"...> Ho hum.

| Oct-05-07 | | mack: The World Cup ought to be great fun, shouldn't it. Especially as winning it actually means something now (i.e. you will become the world championship contender-contender). |
|
| Oct-05-07 | | mack: <Madden oil> Can I have your word that Victor Bologan will never win the Spirit of St Nimzo award please? In his Selected Games he writes: <A knight on the rim always stands badly> Always?! Dogma, much?

| Oct-05-07 | | achieve: I deleted a post here re. the GMT game because it wasn't saying exactly what I meant to. |
|
Oct-05-07
 | | Domdaniel: <achieve> -- <because it wasn't saying exactly what I meant to.> Insufficient cause, in my opinion. Very few posts ever say *exactly* what is meant, including this one. But if it's your post, it's your choice. |
