Oct-01-06  Archives: <Karpova: Here are quotes from famous people commenting on the world championship!

<Bobby Fischer>: All dirty jews are cheating. The whole match and the scandal are prearranged to secure them more attention and money. I have to go now, I think a jew is trying to steal my stamp collection….ARGH!

<Anatoly Karpov>: Every @#$%@#$% could handle the situation much better than Ilyumzhinov.

<Alexandru Crisan>: I don’t see a problem at all! I mean, the match could take place in our beautiful country of Romania and the best thing is that both players could stay at home and relax. They wouldn’t even need to play chess!

<Garry Kasparov>: The whole issue doesn’t matter. There is no worthy contender for the title left since I retired to fight the nazi-communist dictator Vladimir Putin who rules my beloved Russia.

<WTHarvey>: Here are some crucial positions and puzzles from the world championship…

<Maria Manakova>: I’m not interested in a match with Kramnik participating. He’s nothing special. But look, there are some new photos of me. I posed completely nude this time! These photos are so great…

<Victor Korchnoi>: The parapsychologist in Topalov’s team – that’s the same one Karpov used to hypnotise me!

<Evgeny Sveshnigov>: All of the moves played in this match yet have already been played by me. I demand to get payed for this. I’m serious, man!>

I will let you in on Bufon's secret. With much work, you CAN overtake him. You just need to apply yourself:

1) Repeat the same bad jokes over and over on many different forums.

2) Misspell EVERYTHING.

3) Have a name that is easy to insult, provided <Bufon> has not already created accounts with these names. Some suggestions: <Idiott>, <dubas>, <sutpid>, <sheetbranes>.

4) Whenever trying to construct a witty retort, always ensure that you never actually insult the person to whom you are responding. The key is to be incoherent. Failing this, you must ensure that at best, you merely display your lack of rhetorical skill.

5) When faced with an insult, frustrate your detractors by simply failing to understand the gist of the insult.

6) Never, ever, ever follow any line of thought logically.

If you aggressively apply these six principles, you may have a shot at topping <Bufon>. But remember, he has quite a head start, so you must put in that much EXTRA effort!

<Topalov - Kramnik, Oct-02-06>

<flapjack>:

Topa's slick and oily ploy to avoid losing the match has given him a new nickname across the world: "Vaseline Stopaloss" ;-)

<trevormkidd>:

Topalov is taking a lot of time on this move. I am starting to think that Kramnik is sitting at the board this game and that is unnerving Topalov.

Protest after this game from Topalov's manager - Kramnik spent too much time at the board - that is unusual behaviour for him.

<acirce>:

<Why play into a forced draw?> Topa needs to go to the bathroom and now can't do it during the game without losing face.

  chancho: Hilarious post by <RolandTors>

< RolandTors: A letter on behalf of Topalov, at last:

Dear Topy:

We know that these are challenging times for you and your associate. We wish you the best and let us know if you need a little "help" from your friends. Remember that we can always make your opponent an offer that he can't refuse.

And, speaking of opponents, let this guy Kramnik know that if he ever insist again on changing the result of game 5 you will immediately inform the "boss" because, as you know, the boss likes to hear the bad news promptly.

Do not forget also to mention that if he collaborates we can always "arrange" one or two tournaments for him.

Sincerely, your friends...

GM Alphonse Capone
IM Charles 'Lucky' Luciano
FM John Gotti

PS: And remember next time you miss a mating move just take your move back and play the winner move, we will take care of the rest.>

Oct-06-06  Chess Classics: < keypusher: <Ezzy>

<Topalov wins with a game worthy of admiration by all chess enthusiasts world wide, but all Kramnik fans and those Topalov deserters seem to find it difficult to admire the quality of his play in this game.>

That cheating, no-good weasel Topalov sure played a terrific game today. I hope Danailov chokes to death on his celebratory dinner.

How's that?>

I almost choked on my dinner myself reading that one.

Regards,
CC

OhioChessFan: Great stuff <syracrophy> I was familiar with many, but some were brand new to me. The gushing tributes to Fischer were interesting.
Oct-09-06  syracrophy: <OhioChessFan> You bet. There are also dates and causes of the death of some chess players, as for example, Karel Treybal died in hands of the nazis, if I remember, someone threw himself from the window of his house, etc. A lot of stuff. Horoscopes, chess puzzles, etc.

Try them! A very nice page indeed: http://www.chess-poster.com/

<if collective karmic support were decisive vlad wd win hands down today but i doubt that the global pro kramnik psychic energy will penetrate the mystic force field kirsan has set up to protect kalmykia-doubtless sustained by dilithium crystals powered by a vulcan spacehip moored somewhere behind alpha centauri>

Yasser: Was that a b7 pawn hanging there?

Yasser: Well I would’ve stopped to think about it

Nigel Short: ‘Pawns are for schoolboys’ as Korchnoi once told me

Yasser: Yeah and Victor spent a lifetime grabbing them too!

Yasser: Pawns that is

<Zaltar>:

Topalov is clearly outplaying Kramnik, except for his bad moves, and not including Kramnik's good moves.
