<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: 3 rounds in, we have 2 HOFers leading the categories, <NakoSonorense> and <WinKing>. If this is your first contest, don't lose heart if you haven't scored yet. It can be <extremely> difficult to score. And sometimes, you can win the entire contest based on one good round. FWIW, I think the Gold Standard for this contest is the Moves+Bonus Ranker, but I'm happy to take the gold in any of the 4.
Sep-29-11  chessmoron: Ivanchuk - Carlsen 1/2 40
Nakamura - Vallejo 1-0 33
Anand - Aronian 1/2 39

OhioChessFan: The link I provided is to a personality quiz. It's called "What Chess Piece Are You?" I doubt any great revelation, but mildly interesting.

OhioChessFan: <morf> I have some real life issues that have greatly affected my concentration. I've been about worthless in the World game and POTD I might comment on the early days of the week. Today was so easy it might as well have been a Tuesday. It's nice though, the site lends itself to picking what you want/can deal with.

Aronian - Ivanchuk 1/2 32
Vallejo - Anand 0-1 47
Carlsen - Nakamura 1-0 37

Sep-29-11  WinKing: Hey <OCF> I think some people may have the rounds mixed up. I'm pretty sure for round 4 for the match-ups are:

Round 4, Sao Paulo 30/9

Aronian - Ivanchuk
Vallejo - Anand
Carlsen - Nakamura

OhioChessFan: <WinKing> you are correct. I am not sure where the wrong pairings are from. I just copied them from somewhere and haven't noticed there was a problem. I'm shocked it's just coming up now. Could everyone please look over their 4th round pairings? These ARE the correct pairings:

Round 4, Sao Paulo 30/9

Aronian - Ivanchuk
Vallejo - Anand
Carlsen - Nakamura

Sep-29-11  WinKing: The official Bilbao site pairings:

OhioChessFan: I will list the people who I think have the wrong pairings for Round 4. I am guessing Rounds 4 and 5 are reversed.

<Ragh> <Robin01> <wordfunph> <twinlark> <GoldenExecutive> <OhioChessFan> <Nakosonorense> <chessmoron>

OhioChessFan: I see 3 posts in a row back on page 254 that have this wrong pairing. I have no idea where it came from, but it appears legit. I will try very hard to contact the people involved and leave it to <chessmoron> discretion what to do. If you are fixing your pairings for this contest, be sure to get to <YouRang> and fix them there also.

OhioChessFan: It's okay for <ragh> and <Robin> since they picked Round 4 and 5 both. I will try to chase down the rest.
