<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

I hope the New Year is treating you well. Best, Morf

OhioChessFan: I think a lot of the problem is there's a bit of a limitation in the categories, but I don't know how to address it. Let me toss out some names that really are All Stars on this site in one way or another, but always seem overlooked by the Caissars: acirce, RayKeene, EricSchiller, chancho, chessmoron........I'll stop there. I could list a boatload more. I don't know. I guess the reward is in the doing.

WannaBe: <acirce> was a long time nominee and winner(s) in the Best Informed category 2004-2007. <IMlday> won Best Post in 2004.

Not sure why <raykeene> and <ericschiller> never won anything, think I remember them being nominated. But it is hard for GM/IMs to get nomination, since they are taken for granted. Examples of today maybe Ms. Dembo, and Ms. Pogonia.

Susan Polgar have returned to posting again, but definitely not as often as before, when she was good for 3 or 4 posts a day. Samething with <acirce>, I just checked his profile, last post was Dec. 29, and before that was Dec. 24th.

One would think with people posting left and right on K. Rogoff page, he would have made camp there and be posting (about) every thing under the sun.

Jan-06-12  Benzol: <OhioChessFan> <You know, <matebay> there are ways to air your grievances that are honorable. There are ways to air your grievances that are acceptable. There are ways to air your grievances that are tolerable. And then there are ways to air your grievances that are so annoying and childish you lose the support of people who'd otherwise be in general agreement with your original grievance. Please, knock it off. It's not funny. And if you want to ruin what is an otherwise entertaining few weeks for a lot of people to satisfy your own something or another, that says far more about you than you realize.>

<OhioChessFan> It seems that <matebay> is intent on making a complete prat out of himself. You can't tell some people. However, good on you for trying anyway.

:)

Jan-06-12  YouRang: I noticed you nominated me for "most helpful" in the Caissars. That was nice of you, especially considering that I know you disagree with me on a number of issues. Thanks for that. :-)

OhioChessFan: Thanks <wannabe> I'd forgotten about <acirce> back in the day. <Benzol> in fact, you set a very good example lately of the proper way to address people. I am aware that I have some problems with that and seeing some of your posts reminded me of the adult/constructive way to talk to people. So like it or not, you've made me a better person. <YouRang> don't let it go to your head.
