<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Jan-21-13  WinKing: To <chessmoron>/<OhioChessFan>, lostemperor, & <YouRang>,

I have been working for some time on a way to get more members to play your games(all of them). In my forum is an experimental idea that may encourage members to try all of your games. All of you have a list of HOF'ers & I think all members that play your games like it (I know I do). My idea tries to tie all three of your contests together by offering titles just as there are in the game of chess. The only way to get these titles (GM, IM & M) is to participate in all of the contests. Like I said this idea is experimental & could be changed around or scrapped entirely. I would like feedback from all of you to see what you think. I would do all the bookkeeping & keep it up to date.

I would also like feedback from any player/members. If you don't like it don't be afraid to say so. I have thick skin. ;)

OhioChessFan: <WK> I read it and will take it under advisement. I know you had to pick <some> numbers, and that decision will be arbitrary by nature. But it'd be good if you could elucidate why you chose the numbers you did.

Jan-21-13  WinKing: <OhioChessFan: <WK> I read it and will take it under advisement. I know you had to pick <some> numbers, and that decision will be arbitrary by nature. But it'd be good if you could elucidate why you chose the numbers you did.>

Sure thing <OCF>. I figure these are what you mean.

<*GM - at least 3 golds in *each of the 3* game contests. (9 Golds minimum)>

I chose three because you need three norms in higher level chess for the GM title - seemed right.

<*IM - at least 2 golds in *each of the 3* game contests. (6 Golds minimum) (Since we have players from all over the world this seems appropriate)>

This one I wasn't sure of <OCF> if it should be 2-2-2 or maybe 3-2-2, 2-3-2, 2-2-3. I figured if you can win 2 games in each of the three contests there's more than luck involved. Definitely negotiable.

<*M - at least 2 golds in 2 of the 3 game contests / or at least 2 golds in one of the 3 game contests & at least 1 gold in the other 2 (4 Golds minimum) --- 6 Golds total (any combo) also = M)>

This is the most critical because I figure it's the easiest way to get a title. I made the #'s higher here because if someone is really good at a particular game then that's all they might play. So I made that #6(golds) if they play just one particular game. For example if someone has 3 golds in one category & 1 in another they can't just start piling on the 3. They can either play for one gold on the 1 they already have & get the title. Or they can play for two golds on the 3 they have & get the title. Chances are they are more comfortable with the game they already have 3 golds in. So let's tempt em' to play for only 1. The whole purpose of this is to get members to want to play *all* the games. I was shocked when I looked at the HOF list & saw how many players had quite a few medals but only in one of the contests. This was true for all the contests. Some members here are really diehards for one particular game. Hopefully we can encourage them to play in the others & 'titles' might help accomplish that.

Jan-21-13  bubuli55: <Jan-21-13
SloVice: <bubuli55> Right now you have Leko & Anand drawing in 1 move. >

Thanks < Slo Vice >. I have a feeling this game will be the shortest game of the tourney. I just can't decide whether to put 15 or 19. So I just have it at 1. It has the same look :)

Good luck :)
