<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: Yes, Black played Qxa3. The only squares available for the Queen are a2, a3, b2 and d2. Probably Re3 is best but a random Rook move is likely winning too.

jessicafischerqueen: Congratulations to you and <McLovin> on yet another banner contest.

I just wanted to thank you properly for taking the time to do such sterling editing work on the Petrov bio.

I will attempt to update this bio now, so when I'm "finished" I will let you know and I hope you will again agree to edit?

OhioChessFan: Glad to help <jess> though I think the final edit is a cakewalk compared to the hard work of fact checking, etc.

<Wannabe> I have to conclude God doesn't care about sports before I'll admit He loves the Yankees.

OhioChessFan: Didn't want to continue to litter <playground's> forum so I'll note here I don't believe in demanding apologies. That strikes me as akin to a teacher demanding 2 little boys who were fighting shake hands.
Feb-02-13  playground player: <Ohio Chess Fan> You have never littered my forum, and are always welcome.

Speaking of apologies, one thing I truly hate is the endless groveling required of a public figure (unless he's a Democrat) who says anything objected to by any member of one of our pampered minorities.

I dimly remember an anecdote along these lines. A member of Parliament said: "I said Lord So-and-so was a liar it is true and I am sorry for it. You pay punctuate the sentence as you please."

Feb-04-13  twinlark: Thanks for your help on Lékó’s bio. Hope I didn't strangle the conversation with my premature valediction.

Also, well done on the work you did with Jess on the Petrov bio.

Feb-06-13  Colonel Mortimer: God knows how this is supposed to support the theory that the world is 6,000 years old.

You can only count up the ages of Old Testament characters once or maybe twice. Science, however, is always moving forward - and most importantly is always questioning itself.

Another own goal I'm afraid <OCF>.
