<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Dec-04-13  MarkFinan: Elvis.. I came back and logged into this place today to find mayhem!

Let's equate exactly what's happening/happened here....

Handsome and charming Englishman uses a bit of wit, sarcasm and irony without meaning to be malicious in anyway.

Crazy and thick Indian American, loses the plot and phone's another legendary birdbrain and accuses me of criminal behaviour against his kid, and cries like a little baby blaming the aforementioned Englishman for all life's problems!

And he says I'm mad.

Dec-04-13  MarkFinan: Seriously Elvis, this is where your job of being my counsellor comes into play, haha. Tell me, show me, what exactly did I did wrong to make him act like that?? Normally when someone accuses me of crazy stuff I have an inkling as to why, but im just lost this time. In fact, he may just be one of those evil geniuses because even I feel like taking my bat and ball home, and leaving for a few weeks, months now, lol. I do though! But I won't make it an event, just like the last time I took 6 months out.
Dec-04-13  MarkFinan: In fact you're right. He's mentally ill, he's come back acting like yesterday didn't happen!

I'm outta here for the night.

I was wondering if there's a better blue word available for "give" than "giraffe"?

I do like "giraffe," but possibly it's a bit too obscure to serve for the word "give."

It's been a few days, so I'll ask. Does the "Blue Ban" mean you don't want me to post any more blue in your forum?

Please don't ban me!

Merry Christmas too.

Dec-11-13
Premium Chessgames Member
  jessicafischerqueen: <Ohio> Aha.

That actually makes sense for more than one reason, since it was a "blue" word artificially created for posting purposes.

Blue "purists" don't like that kind of thing.

The best part was when <T-bone> kept the ban on "screwhead" even after he knew it was me.

I just looked at the <Gingerbread Man> game and it looks like <The World> is sitting on a win there?

Is it true? Certainly I don't trust my own ability to judge a position, but I also don't trust my crappy old engine to judge a position.

Dec-13-13  optimal play: Hello <OhioChessFan>

Hereunder are two of your posts from my forum which I have deleted...

<Dec-12-13

delete OhioChessFan: And the circle jerkers start up.

Dec-12-13

delete OhioChessFan: Let's see. The liberal playbook: Insult 10 times, and if the other guy responds 1 time, obsess on that and get every one of the other 20 liberal circle jerkers to join in. Play language lawyer even though the other guy doesn't. Interject oneself into other people's conversations, ask questions, demand answers, if the person responds, ask followup questions and pursue other related issues. If the other person declines to continue, accuse them of giving up their argument. If they continue, accuse them of being argumentative. One at a time, each one accuse the other person of insulting, being sure to include an insult each time. And then publicly wonder why nobody else from the opposing side wants to hang out with such a swell group of people.>

I must say that I'm surprised and disappointed you chose to use this filthy disgusting term in my forum, not once but twice :(

I have no problem at all with combative argument and pugnacious debate on my forum, but I have always insisted that visitors treat each other with courtesy and respect at The Optimal Zone.

You're always welcome there ... just please leave off that sort of language.

OhioChessFan: <In internet slang, a "circlejerk" is when a group of people with a shared interest get together and congratulate one another for sharing that interest.>

<a pointless group endeavor.>

<When a bunch of blowhards - usually politicians - get together for a debate but usually end up agreeing with each other's viewpoints to the point of redundancy>

<“Circle Jerk” is a slang term referring to the positive feedback loop that can occur when ideas and beliefs are reinforced within a group or subculture’s enclosed space. The phenomenon is typically observed on websites that consists of self-contained forums for specific interests or subcultures.>

Man am I thick.

I didn't realize until your second "follow up post" that you were merely supplying a handy blue word for "band."

You know it never even occurred to me to look for <user: Banned> even though it is an exact homynym for "band."

Actually I was so surprised there was no <user: band> that I checked twice on that one.

Dec-13-13  Colonel Mortimer: <Slang Dictionary

circle-jerk definition

n.
a gathering of males performing mutual masturbation. (Partly jocular. Usually objectionable.) : There were twelve boys involved in a circle-jerk, and the principal caught them.

n.
a boring or time-wasting meeting. (From sense 1.) : That board meeting was the typical circle-jerk that it always is.

Dictionary of American Slang and Colloquial Expressions by Richard A. Spears. Fourth Edition. Copyright 2007. Published by McGraw-Hill Education.>

Dec-13-13  optimal play: OK <OhioChessFan> I accept you meant that term as per your definition, however the understanding of it where I come from is as per the first definition posted by <Colonel Mortimer>

I should have known you wouldn't intend anything like that.

It just goes to show we all have to be careful what we post and how we interpret things.

Next time I won’t jump to conclusions.

Domdaniel: "filthy, disgusting" ... I suspect that <Optimal play> is erring on the side of prurience. While the words objected to *do* have a somewhat obscene sense, the normal metaphorical usage is harmless.
