<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: Thanks for the tunes <chancho> I didn't know the Heatwave song. The Sirius Soultown channel plays the B. T. Express song a lot.

  jessicafischerqueen: Good Heavens

Bit of an unfortunate last name, no?

At any rate I just picked the most popular youtube live performance and yes his voice is terrific. This ballad is in "Waltz" tempo, I think.

Luckily, I don't know what "Waltz tempo" means.

OhioChessFan: Happy 25,000 posts to me. Thanks to my favorite website, chessgames.com, all the users who made me laugh, the wonderful players with their genius on display and their blunders too, what a great game chess is.

NUMBER SEVEN and you are hot on the heels of that rabbit too.

ChessGames.com Statistics Page

Ah the memories every time I visit the "fun statistics page."

I've recently decided that it was <McLovin> who broke the "most popular forum" category, and that I had no role in that, except for largely causing it.

OhioChessFan: I have been impressed with the efforts of <TheFocus> and <AJ> among others to stop feuding. I am depressed at the attempts of others to start the feuding again. The past is gone, so when people try to move forward, they should be applauded and not reminded of previous wrongs. Strive for progress, not perfection. Neither side is perfect, but both sides have progressed.
Nov-29-13  TheFocus: <OCF> I appreciate that and wish to apologize to you for my earlier insult to you.

And BIG congratulations on reaching 25,000 posts.

Dec-01-13  MarkFinan: Elvis.. "Feuding" should indeed stop when it comes to a civilized place such as a chess site. But I really think (and your not the first!) you're overestimating TheFocus motives and intelligence here. Anyways whatever his motives he must be just aching for AJ to say the slightest thing wrong to him now, so he can have a pop at being popular again! I can tell!

I may take verbal shots at certain people for comedic affect, but as much as AJ probably hates me, I really don't hate him. I find him hilarious, and this can obviously be misread by simple minded folks as disliking him, or wanting to argue with him! Nothing could be further from the truth (apart from TheFocus book;)). I love a bit of banter, even if it's at my expense I don't care, but what I don't like is when people who are on the other end of a joke can't take it (truth really does hurt) and start saying "I'll be reading your posts and blowing my whistle on you now I've been humbled, don't you just hate posting with me looking over your shoulder? " .

I find it odd behaviour, I find it kinda bitter behaviour, I find it hypocritical in every single way. In fact it's the only thing I will get on my serious soap box about and tell that person what I think. You have to expect a bit of warmth *and* a bit of heat if you suddenly start acting like him! I would. Difference being I can take it. I know my faults, and ill admit every single one, but I also know my very few qualities and I'm proud what you see is what you get with me. No BS! I'd love to see AJ get on with everyone but I'm a realist and he's not sane. And that's a fact. As far as TheFocus goes, he now falls into that "unforgivable" category that you agreed with me on a while back. I can't forgive a lack of humour, especially over such trivial things! Nobody on this site is here to cure cancer, so lighten up is my motto.

Rant over. ✌

OhioChessFan: Someone "might be" doing anything. For now, I accept that there is a sincere attempt to get along going on and I will leave it at that. I agree that people who turn on a heater in a kitchen should expect some warmth. But the Focus/AJ issue simply isn't your battle. Why intruded on <that>?I agree about a lack of humor being unforgiveable.
Dec-02-13  MarkFinan: Ey up Elvis.. Just for today I'm appointing you to the lofty position of being my counsel and counselor! The counselor job is actually a full time thing, I have many issues lol.

Anyways. My reason for blessing you with my handsome and witty presence is fairly simple, just like the man in question is! I'm of course talking about the three and only, TheFocus's!!

I'll use some of his "real life" terminology ;)

If you creep up quietly to TheFocus's (plural! ) door and peep through the keyhole you will see a big fat Indian man with a barrel on his knee. If you listen carefully you'll hear a scraping sound, as the aforementioned fat Indian chips away at the barrel looking for things that don't exist! Next to the huge Indian guy is a bottle of grog and 3 sheets of A4 size paper that he affectionately calls...... his book! I must say im confused, because when Akiva le unfocused started "writing" this non existent book it was the year 2007ad but unfortunately he passed away. I really don't know when Nicolai le focus2 took up the reigns, so to speak, and tried finishing this ficticious book, hell.... even he must be confused! All three of them!!! 😱(< this smiley looks like his avatar LOL)

I shall return at some point today because I plan on putting this unworthy foe and legendary fantasist on manual ignore very very soon. But I have things to say and do first......

Peace out for now, Elvis. ✌

Dec-02-13  MarkFinan: I can see I shouldn't have posted here Elvis, not because you object because I'm pretty sure you'd tell me if you did, but because TheFocus's are now insulting you for saying something that maybe perceived as being truthful!!

Well... I know when I've been beaten by a wittier, funnier, more intelligent and more liked person, just like all TheFocus's have beat me. I may just leave for the forseeable future.......

That last sentence isn't a joke either.

;)

OhioChessFan: It's okay to post here. As for the feud, someone has to be the first to stop.
Dec-02-13  MarkFinan: Well even though I don't see it as a feud, I can still see where you're coming from. But to lock your door then shout abuse out of the window is a lot worse than my attempts at humour!

Although I am funny.. 😃

Dec-02-13  TheFocus: <OCH> You really disappoint me. I always thought you were a brighter guy than this. I cannot really believe that you are so gullible as to believe <Mark>'s lies.

<As for the feud, someone has to be the first to stop.> So, I guess you missed me offering him peace? To put an end to our fighting? Instead, he said, no, he would rather continue to attack me. And, he stepped up the attacks. Went so far with it that he was suspended. Twice.

You might want to pray about this one. It might bring you some enlightenment.

Dec-02-13  TheFocus: And you might ask yourself who has been seeking peace on the site, and who has been actively trying to continue the fighting?

Therein will be your answer.

Dec-02-13
Premium Chessgames Member
OhioChessFan: Well, reading your forum today, it appears that you are the one actively trying to continue the fighting.
Dec-02-13  MarkFinan: Look tough guy, give the religious guy a break for daring to speak his opinion and even if anyone were the slightest bit interested in your crazy accusations, they can use search kibitzing and/or come to my forum and ask me about whatever they like. You're nuts pal!

<As for the feud, someone has to be the first to stop.> So, I guess you missed me offering him peace? To put an end to our fighting?>

I also missed this gesture of goodwill (Btw I really don't see this as fighting!) that never happened, because the last thing you said *to* me is still there, and it said something about me being a coward because I would come to your forum for an argument!! The Las thing you said *about* me was posted around 10mins ago, and I once again missed your warm gesture of kindness!

Haven't you got a book to finish? I mean start? LOL

Dec-02-13  MarkFinan: And to say I "attacked" your kid is the act of a confused and desperate man. What a bizarre thing to say!
Dec-02-13  TheFocus: Well, there you go then.

<Shrugs>

Your eyes see what they want to see. Your ears hear what they want to hear.
