<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Me neither, I almost never do that, since I go with my gut instincts, rather than my brain (it's more reliable).

Anyway, I'm going to go rest and see how the results come out later. Good luck to you and everyone else!

Penguincw: <GE> is 3/3! Well done. Too bad you couldn't be awarded with a medal for your efforts though.

And here's for my typical, hefty, congratulatory speech no one ever reads (now in paragraphs):

"As always, thanks to <cm> and <OCF> for making this contest possible, and <WK> for watching the score.

As for the winners, congrats to <scout> for winning the Triple Crown, the 17th in contest history. Also congrats to <alfamikewhiskey> for hitting an exact in Vachier-Lagrave - Grischuk to not only rob <scout> of a gold, but a quadruple crown (whew).

The last time someone won the Moves Ranker, but not the First Ranker was recently at Tata Steel 2015, when <Switch> (who participated in 2 rounds here) won the Moves Ranker, but I took the First Ranker. Still, <both> gold medal winners here have never won a <medal> before. :|

Congrats to <WK> for winning 2 silver, and tying <chessmoron> for most runner-up medals, again with 36.

Last congrats goes to <OCF> for winning a bronze in the First Ranker. I would also like to thank him for allowing me to "cling" onto him: if you look carefully at my changes, you'll notice that I changed the first game and the last game to match his predictions, and was awarded with 2 bronzes (but didn't rob <him> of any medals). Dirty tricks at its finest. :P"

That's all I how to say, for now. It was an intense contest, and probably the most notable since Sinquefield of last year. Looking forward to next time, which I imagine will be Biel (if not, then probably Sinquefield).

Jun-25-15  Golden Executive: Thanks <WinKing> and <Penguin>! :)
Jun-25-15  WinKing: Thanks to <chessmoron> for running & <OhioChessFan> for hosting this strong event. Special thanks to <Golden Executive> who did a stellar job in keeping tabs in the final rounds. Not always an easy task.

Congratulations to all those that won medals! Great performance from <scout118> on winning 3 golds & a silver. <alfamikewhiskey> also turned in a nice performance grabbing the other gold & a silver. I don't show either of you having won any golds in any of the contests yet so welcome to <chessmoron>'s Hall Of Fame both of you!

Jun-25-15  WinKing: <chessmoron> I hope you are having a great trip. Would love to here what you saw in Zhangjiajie when you get back.

If possible when you return could you please update the Hall Of Fame medals. I like to keep as accurate an account as possible in my forum - thanks.

Jun-25-15  alfamikewhiskey: This was great - thank you all!
Jun-25-15  chessmoron: <Golden Executive> Gracias. Good job and good job to our winners. Thanks all for participating.

<WinKing> I will be ascending Zhangjiajie national park today. Before, I toured the 300 years old well-preserved Phoenix Old Town. Did I tell you that there's 2 nightclubs that has pole dancers (well, clothed). Yeah..that is that.

Awesome! I love history <chessmoron>. Nothing beats seeing historical sites it in person. Wish I were there with you.

Jun-25-15  scout118: <cm> <OCF> <GE> <WK> <Pcw> Thanks for hosting, running, notifying, updating and cheer leading this game!

I hereby attribute this ♔♔♔♘ win to --- (wait for it) -- pure beginner's luck!

Hope to be able to join the next round as well.

Cheers!

Jun-25-15  Golden Executive: Thanks <chessmoron> and <OhioChessFan> for running and hosting the contest, also congratulations to all the medal winners and remarkably to <WinKing> and <Penguincw> for getting medals while I was busy keeping the score! :)

And of course, special congratulations to the new Hall of Famers: <scout118> and <alfamikewhiskey>.

See you next time.

  OhioChessFan: ** Final Recap **

Shaking up the Old Guard, <scout118> proved this contest really isn't all that hard, almost sweeping the 4 events. He did manage 3 golds, while <amw> won the 4th. <WinKing> <Penguincw> <lostemperor> and <OhioChessFan> were the other medalists. In other news, <chessmoron> suffered from altitude sickness and didn't even medal. <GE> couldn't even pencil whip himself to a crummy bronze medal and will never help again.

Congratulations to the new HOFers and hope you come back next time.
