<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: I can't be the only person having serious thoughts about bidding farewell to this site. The constant outages is simply unacceptable, and no comment from the site admin makes it worse. This is not okay. When the currrent Team Game gets blown up by an outage, there are going to be a whole lot of unhappy campers.
Oct-04-15  parisattack: It is certainly very frustrating. I am sure the Admins know such outages are the Black Death for commercial websites. I am abiding for now but there are limits...

chancho: The question is why are these outages becoming more frequent.

In ten years of being around this site,
I don't remember so many happening.

Oct-05-15  TheFocus: And another outage today. Frustrating.
Oct-13-15  Karne: I don't know who you are, and who you pretend to be, but I do have a fascinating tale for you to hear.

"Franz Liszt: I was about eleven years old when my respected teacher Czerny took me to see Beethoven. Already a long time before, he had told Beethoven about me and asked him to give me a hearing some day. However, Beethoven had such an aversion to infant prodigies that he persistently refused to see me. At last Czerny, indefatigable, persuaded him, so that, impatiently, he said 'Well, bring the rascal to me, in God's name'. It was about ten o'clock in the morning when we entered the two small rooms in the Schwarzspanierhaus where Beethoven was living at the time, myself very shy, Czerny kind and encouraging. Beethoven was sitting at a long, narrow table near the window, working. For a while he scrutinised us grimly, exchanged a few hurried words with Czerny and remained silent when my good teacher called me to the piano. The first thing I played was a short piece by Ries. When I had finished, Beethoven asked me if I could play a fugue by Bach. I chose the Fugue in C minor from the Well-tempered Clavichord. 'Could you transpose this fugue at once into another key?' Beethoven asked me. Fortunately, I could. After the final chord, I looked up. The Master's darkly glowing gaze was fixed upon me penetratingly. Yet suddenly a benevolent smile broke up his gloomy features, Beethoven became quite close, bent over me, laid his hand on my head and repeatedly stroked my hair. 'Devil of a fellow' he whispered, 'such a young rascal!' I suddenly plucked up courage 'May I play something of yours now?' I asked cheekily. Beethoven nodded with a smile. I played the first movement of the C major Concerto. When I had ended, Beethoven seized both my hands, kissed me on the forehead and said gently 'Off with you! You are a happy fellow, for you will give happiness and joy to many other people. There is nothing better or greater than that'

This event in my life has remained my greatest pride, the palladium for my whole artistic career. I speak of it very rarely and only to my intimate friends."

Oct-14-15  Big Pawn: <karne> Fantastic little tale you shared there! I fully enjoyed reading it. What book is this from?

OhioChessFan: Thanks for the great story <karne> I am a patzer in terms of classical music. Bach is by far my favorite composer. Beethoven's symphonies and anything by Rachmaninoff are also favorites.

OhioChessFan: <Not only did the fact that they were unfossilized not make it into the article, but it actually states falsely that the bones were fossilized....The preconceived notions of those both in academia and the media work to skew and misrepresent the evidence when it doesn’t fit into their Darwinian worldview, which is presupposed a priori when interpreting finds from the field.

This bonebed was discovered by geologist Robert Liscomb in 1961, as the AP article relates. It continues, “Liscomb thought they came from mammals. They remained in storage for about two decades until someone identified the fossils as dinosaur bones …”1 This is true enough, but the critical point of why these fossils were initially thought to be mammalian is again omitted. Liscomb assumed they were recent bison bones because they were not fossilized.3 So strong was the assumption that these must be recent deposits that it took 20 years for them to be properly identified. Why didn’t the article clue the readers in on this important piece of the puzzle?>

http://creation.com/unpermineralize...

Truth has a way of coming out, much to the Darwinian's consternation.

Oct-21-15  Colonel Mortimer: More junk science from Creation Ministeries.

You've got to love how they are opposed to science, except when they attempt to use it to 'debunk' evolution or 'prove' Noah's flood.

<It’s clear to all whose minds are unclouded by the dogma of long ages that the comparatively short history of Earth provided to us in the Bible is much more consistent with the evidence than the views championed by today’s establishment.>

Simply hilarious.

Oct-21-15  Big Pawn: There isn't a shred of evidence for the truth of evolution. Not a shred. All of the evidence, and I mean all of it, is in your imagination.

They literally ask you to imagine how evolution could have occurred and then call that science.

When they find bones, they say they are old because the rocks they found them in are old, because the rocks have old bones in them - and on and on and on. It's circular.

Evidence for evolution occurs when one guy points to the next guy who points to the next guy for proof. The say, "Everybody knows evolution is true"

That's not evidence.

They say, "Come on! It's in the school books"

That's not evidence.

They say, "You're anti-science"

That's not evidence.

They say, "There's TONS of evidence!"

That's not evidence.

They say, "Joe Shmoe scientist says it's true"

That's not evidence.

They say, "Joe Shmoe says some other expert has already proved evolution"

That's not evidence.

There is no evidence.

This is what they want you to believe: Long ago it rained on the rocks and the rocks came to life (because there was no Creator), and then evolution occurred - you can imagine that right? That's science

What about the sudden dawn of civilization? All of a sudden there is a recorded history, and nothing before that. I guess evolution sped up mightily right around 5000 years ago and then slowed back down.

Evolution is a fairy tale for adults.

By the way, I don't think the bible really shows that a young earth exists. But that doesn't really matter because there is no evidence for evolution.

It is a classic example of the emperor having no clothes.

Oct-21-15  Colonel Mortimer: Even more hilarious.

OhioChessFan: It's hard to give historical context to essentially the first great player in any field. For example, when discussing the greatest basketball player in history, how often do you hear George Mikan mentioned? And I know it's unfair to sit here with Steinitz between me and Morphy, but Morphy benefitted greatly from the horrible positional play of his opposition.

Is it possible Morphy could have competed with today's field? Sure, maybe, but I very strongly think he's vastly overrated. I could be wrong.

Nov-18-15  Jim Bartle: <For example, when discussing the greatest basketball player in history, how often do you hear George Mikan mentioned? >

How often do you hear Hank Liusetti mentioned? The Original Celtics?
