<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 3 Recap **

Worldwide depression was a major concern as <OhioChessFan> failed in his heroic effort to achieve a perfect in 3 straight rounds. However, humanity's collective psyche was saved by the fact that <OCF> did storm to the lead in all 4 rankers! The outpouring of support and congratulations has overwhelmed the switchboard and gatekeepers at Graceland. Chessgames.com feared that the excitement would break the internet but their heroic efforts saved both this site and the World Wide Web itself. Frequent participant <Robin01> was so excited that he joined the event 3 days late just to say that he was a part of the same contest. Oh yeah, <juan31> and <lostemperor> did get a perfect each, and everyone has scored. Whatever. 10 rounds to go in what has so far been the biggest news story of the year in the world of chess.

Jan-19-16  thegoodanarchist: Hi <OCF>

Just curious. I am not trying to bring the Rogoff page here to your personal forum.

Please don't misconstrue this post as an attempt to do so.

Just wondering - I posted a response to you, a bit conciliatory, and did not see a reply on the Rogoff page.

Admittedly, at the time, <The Focus> did spam the page with a zillion posts. Maybe my reply was lost.

Here it is:

<an-18-16 thegoodanarchist: <OhioChessFan: ... I never used the phrase. It's a small point, but regardless. You, sir, are a liar.>

A few years back, someone used the term and I called them on it. Other posters jumped in and joined the discussion. It was on the Rogoff page.

So I am willing to concede that person wasn't you - maybe I confused you with someone else on that topic. Doesn't make me a liar, just wrong...>

I will not come into your forum again to pursue this line of discussion. I will only look to the Rogoff page for a reply.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

Elvis fans are in mourning after the crash and burn of Round 4. <OhioChessFan> is now only leading in 2 categories. HOFer <juan31> had a huge round to take at least a shared lead in 2 categories. HOFer <WinKing> has the lead in Bonus Ranker. Today is a much needed rest day for the contestants to regroup. Fortunately, it coincides with the rest day in the Caissar voting, which had likewise been taking a huge toll on the kibitzers. 9 rounds to go.
