<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Rounds 1-4 Recap **

The contestants are following the boring drawfest, barely able to keep their eyes open, but the competition is hot and heavy here. <chessmoron> made a command decision not to count round 1 as his really, really, real picks weren't in yet. In any case, <whiteshark> leads the way with lucky 13 points, and the Legendary <Switch> came back from his Ryan Lochte tour to land in second with 12.

<wordfunph> has apparently been granted special exemption, but didn't score anyway. <OhioChessFan> is trying to act like he's not embarrassed at being shut out thus far.

No sign yet of Laurie Hernandez showing up with <WinKing> although all the contestants are truthfully more interested in that than the WCC Match and the prediction contest.

8 rounds maximum to go, as the crowd impatiently wonders who will be first to make a strong move. Will <chessmoron> cancel any more rounds? Will <OhioChessFan> score a point before this is over? Will someone steal Laurie Hernandez away from <WinKing> when he isn't looking? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other questions.

Nov-15-16  WinKing: Scores are wrong.
Nov-15-16  WinKing: <OhioChessFan: <wordfunph> has apparently been granted special exemption, but didn't score anyway.>

Apparently not as he would have scored both in the 2nd(2pts.) & 3rd(6pts.) rounds.

  OhioChessFan: ** Rounds 5-8 Recap **

In a match so thrilling that <chessmoron> slept through the first game, things have really heated up. <Switch> and <WinKing> lead the pack, by a mile. <OhioChessFan> and <chessmoron> are weighing down the bottom, by a mile. <OCF> is just happy to score a point and is already thinking of excuses to make for his poor performance. He might borrow one from the Magnus Carlsen Fan Club President, <Overgod>, who said, "When you try too hard to win, sometimes you lose."

In related news, Carlsen stormed out of the press conference yesterday not because of his crushing loss, but because he'd just been told that <wordfunph> had withdrawn from this contest. In anger, he tried to raise his hands in a two fisted salute in <wordfunph's> honor, but failed to complete the difficult maneuver and instead only achieved an open palmed gesture. It's the thought that counts, of course, although <wordfunph> would have preferred Magnus have sat through the press conference and sent him 10% of his winnings.

Sad to say, there have been no appearances by Laurie Hernandez. Somewhat shockingly, while she finds chess itself exciting, she thinks chess prediction contests are a bit boring. We can only hope that the suave and debonair personality of <WinKing> can win her over. If she stops by, the admins of this contest promise to put her on camera more than Ashley Judd at a Kentucky basketball game.

There have been no complaints by the Carlsen team about hacking, so <Switch> has been able to focus all his attention on this contest.

We're in the homestretch of this World Championship contest. Can anyone else rise up to challenge the Big Two? Will <OhioChessFan> suffer through a second consecutive last place finish? Will <chessmoron> try to pencil whip his way to a higer finish? Will Laurie Hernandez come to her senses and visit, hopefully with the rest of her Olympic team and DWTS competitors? Stay tuned, as the answers to these and many other exciting questions are answered.

Nov-26-16  alfamikewhiskey: Seems I have predicted a moderate length draw today (as have all who foresaw a game eleven - no one took a shot at twelve games).

Strikes me as probable: Karjakin with white will press. Carlsen, having the momentum in the match, as it were, will strive to equalise and settle for half a point.

Whatever the final result, Karjakin has proved a worthy challenger, for sure. Seems like a nice guy, too.
