<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: Wildly entertaining game that lasted a long time with an odd material imbalance. 41...Ke5 was losing, as it gave up the skewer on the two Rooks on the long diagonal. 41...Kd7 would have been fine.

<alfamikewhiskey> LCC16:BonusRnk(3)

Dec-18-16  chessmoron: After a 7 years absence, <offramp>, withholding a furious rally by <Switch>, wins 3 gold medals.

Congrats to <GE> for hitting 4 exacts.

Congrats to <alfamikewhiskey> for winning the bronze medal at the <Bonus Ranker> after a slow start in the first 5 rounds.

Congrats to <sea otter> for winning the silver at <Bonus Ranker> but couldn't overcome prediction veteran <WinKing>.

With that gold medal, <WinKing> has tied myself for the most medals and has the advantage being first rank for the most silver medals than me.

Dec-18-16  wordfunph: <OCF> <chessmoron> thank you.

congrats to all topnotchers!

Dec-18-16  WinKing: Thanks <chessmoron> for running a pretty exciting contest. All of us here were trying to play catch-up with the 'new guy'. Thanks <OhioChessFan> for hosting & providing entertaining commentary along the way.

Congrats to all those fortunate enough to win a medal or two. I have never seen a player come in & dominate a bunch of HOF'ers the way <offramp> did. What you did <offramp> is nothing short of incredible. You come in & reel off a triple crown like you have been playing this game your whole life. Not only did yo win here but you picked up gold medals in the other two contests as well. Don't let <OCF> know you pulled off a 'hat trick'(winning @ least one medal in all 3 contests) your very first time out...lol. All I can say <offramp> is well done my man. Winning 6 gold medals...Wow!

Dec-18-16  WinKing: <chessmoron: With that gold medal, <WinKing> has tied myself for the most medals and has the advantage being first rank for the most silver medals than me.>

Don't worry <chessmoron> we have <Switch> coming up fast behind both of us. Our tenure at the top may not last very long. He definitely needs to win a few more 'silvers' first though. ;)

offramp: <Winking> I'd thank you and thank everyone who encouraged me! I am as surprised as anyone. I only took part because the LCC is my "local" tournament, and I received an invitation on my home page (as did, of course, many other people).

I had a lucky first round which gave me the inducement to continue, and my luck held out. I was assisted by a very realistic opinion of Topalov's and Adams's's anaemic chances.

Many thanks to <OhioChessFan> for hosting a hugely enjoyable contest and to <Chessmoron> for performing the complicated task of scoring. And to them both for their very funny resumés of the rounds.

I fully expect this to be a fluke, like Savon in the 1973 USSR Ch, and that normal service will soon be resumed. Thanks again to everyone! I really enjoyed it!😂✌

  OhioChessFan: ** Final Recap **

<offramp> surely set some kind of record with 7 years between medals. Congratulations to him as he enters the Hall of Fame with a bang, a Triple Crown. Hall of Famer <WinKing> took home the other gold. Congratulations to all the other medalists in what seemed a much tougher contest than <offramp> made it look.

In other news, <OCF> and <chessmoron> continued their embarrassing run of no medals despite their ability to manipulate the scoring. <chessmoron> is hiding his embarrassment by a show of false humility in telling <WinKing> that even though they are tied in gold medals, <WinKing> really has more. Or something. <OhioChessFan> blamed the players for not realizing how important this contest was and accepting short draws too often.

Thanks to everyone for playing. Here's hoping our next contest is Wijk aan Zee.

First time in a long time, anyway. I had noticed the gold rush in all 3 contests while I was worrying about an Insane Triple Clown Posse. I had a little bit of a late run here and at <lostemperor's> place to at least get up to mediocrity.

Penguincw: Welcome <offramp> to the HOF! Also congrats to <WinKing> for tying <chessmoron> in most medals won. Congrats to all the other medalists as well.

I got 2 medals, so yay.

Well, see you all next year...

Dec-21-16  Golden Executive: Thanks <chessmoron> for running and <OCF> for hosting another amazing contest, as usual.

Congratulations to all the medal winners, particularly to <offramp> on his triple crown and to <WinKing> for reaching the 1st place in the Hall of Fame!

See you guys next time.

Dec-22-16  thegoodanarchist: <OhioChessFan: New Year's Resolution: I resolve not to tap out and then claim victory.>

I much prefer <not> to claim victory, when I've won. If the topic is <New Year's Resolutions>, then I resolve to make at least one, <before> the New Year. Would that be an old year resolution?

Anyway, all of the previous is irrelevant to why I am here!

I am here to wish you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! And a Happy New year too.

Dec-24-16  Golden Executive: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2017 to you and yours <OCF>!
