<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

<Usually brown nosers will do anything to gain the approval of their person of choice. <These people can also be described as losers because they can’t work for what they want, instead they play dirty and butter-up the boss/teacher/peer into getting what they want. Another word for this person is a shoe shiner or a rough translation of brown noser in Spanish is, an eye licker.>>

http://www.urbandictionary.com/defi...

From this day forth you shall be known as an "eyelicker". I had to go back though some of the criminals posts to forward to someone and you've been eye licking since 2006 IIRC! Way to go <ELF>. Smh at old men who "eye lick" LOL

Apr-13-17  Big Pawn: Amazing that this site has basically <ONE> honest to goodness troll, and it's <UNF>.

Just like a woman, <unf> holds his little grudge forever against the <criminals>, saving up for a spat later on, just like a woman who won't let a thing go and is determined to be "mad" and justified.

No doubt he acts just like is mama. This is not how a man learns to act from his father. What kind of <man> is going to be all into his feelings like that?

And then, to make it worse, <unf> goes around whining about it with NO SHAME! He makes an a** of himself on <rogoff> about it, here, at <focus's> forum, on the <chessgames.com> forum - everywhere!

He has NO SHAME and doesn't realize that he's behaving like a kid.

This is what happens when you do drugs and drink from when you're a teenager into your middle years. You never mature as you should.

Traumatized by mama.

  saffuna: Hi <ocf>.

Wesley So just posted a note on his player page asking all changes to his player bio to be approved by him, or more specifically a person he has hired to maintain the bio.

I noticed you had posted earlier on the same page that the bios are maintained by volunteers.

This worries me. Can the player bios be controlled by the player bios themselves? If so, that ought to be made clear.

So's player bio at the moment is entirely antiseptic and has at least one giant hole. It doesn't mention Susan Polgar or his time at Webster University at all. It's like it never happened.

Now I would say that's a pretty important period of his history as a player. It's how he was able to come to the US, and where he received serious training and began to improve again afterr a period where his ELO had not risen.

I posted about this on the chessgames.com forum.

OhioChessFan: Taking it under advisement. My first reaction is ain't no way he gets to control the bio.

  saffuna: Thanks. I agree.

He can contribute but cannot control all content.

And if he does somehow, the whole bio clearly has to be identified as his work.

Apr-14-17  Keyser Soze: Worse, he said he has " someone" to do that for him..That's ridiculous imho.

Annie K.: Hmmm... Well, all else aside for the moment (I'm still thinking about this) - I suggest you retract the "first language" thing, unless you really want to p*** me off. What's actually needed is someone who speaks English <well>, eh?

<I am sorry, Wesley, but this is a really bad move on your part. This isn't your website. The owner did you the courtesy of allowing you to moderate this page. Be happy with that, and don't think you get to write your self-edited autobiography here. I have just as much right to change it now, as you did then. And frankly, it stinks now. >

I had already agreed with that post after reading it, but I had a strange feeling that I should be agreeing with it even more- but I couldn't figure out why.

It just hit me! English is not your first language, correct?

HA! That almost got by me.

Your English is likely better than mine, and I'm an English teecher.

<Ohio> Thanks for leaving your comments on the MOTHER OF ALL BOMBS issue in various fora- I think I read them all now, and I hope our webmaster pays close attention to them.

I've got my fingers crossed that he heeds your opinion on the issue. I'm not going to comment on the front page about such things, mainly because I disgraced myself as an "editor."

Despite the gracious way I was treated by biographers in the bistro, I have lost significant credibility due to my chicanery.

Anyways I'm glad you are still fighting the fight to uphold editorial standards.

Apr-14-17  Tiggler: <Ohio> I posted a message supporting your position on the Cg.com page and another on the <Wesley So> player page.

Following your example, I repost the latter here in case the original gets deleted:

<Tiggler: <Wesley So> You have the opportunity to post whatever bio you want on your user profile page as <user: Wesley So>.

Player pages are not the personal fiefdom of their subject players. I agree with <OhioChessFan> who is an experienced and well respected user who has earned his privilege as biographical editor as a result of his long service as a voluntary contributor to biographies on this site.>

<in case the original gets deleted:>

That's a good point- the fact that it's even possible your posts may get deleted by the subject of the bio, or by his agents, proves <Ohio's> position, no?

Apr-14-17  TheFocus: I agree. It is ridiculous that a player can rewrite his bio to suit himself.

Good thing we've got the biographies safely backed up these days!
