<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 3 Recap **

<lostemperor> continues his run of stupid luck and is still on pace for a Quadruple Crown. <sea otter> still holds a share of the lead in #1 Ranker, and <wordfunph> has quietly slipped in to also hold a share of the lead. <amw> finally deigned to grace us with his presence and has vowed to beat <lostemperor> regardless of the 2 round head start.

There's been some very exciting talk about how these 15 straight draws are not boring. I am thinking of printing a book recounting the recent discussion about the matter. I had never really thought about the fact that if there were 3 straight rounds of all draws, the round before, <AND>, the found after those 3, <had decisive games!>! I was hoping someone would appeal to the true excitement of the Karpov-Kasparov match with its 185 straight draws, and how exciting that was. Or maybe Giri having 4 straight tournaments of all draws. Alas, no such luck, but maybe tomorrow.

Okay, enough of the excitement, as I don't wish to throw the contestants off their game. 6 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

Finally, a decisive game! Only <wordfunph> picked that result, helping him move into sole lead in the #1 Ranker. <lostemperor> is still stubbornly holding on to the lead in the other 3 Rankers, offering this bit of wisdom: "Going to lose, losers are." The crowd was thrilled by the appearance of <OhioChessFan> as he moved into a share of the lead in the Moves Ranker. <CountWedgemore> and <wordfunph> are just one point behind in that sizzling hot contest.

We still have 4 contestants who haven't hit a #1 yet, although <OhioChessFan> thinks it would be unfair to single out <alfamikewhiskey> <Golden Executive> <juan31> and <Penguincw> by name due to the possibility of embarrassment, so he won't name them.

We are almost halfway home, and the action is heating up. Can <Yoda> hang on to the lead in 3 Rankers? Will <OCF> thrill all of Memphis by winning outright? Will <wordfunph> once again be the only person to pick a decisive game? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other interesting questions. 5 rounds to go.
