<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

A huge shakeup as the tournament quickly moves on. <GE> shot to the lead in 2 Rankers and is on the medal stand in all 4. <wordfunph> leads in Moves Ranker and is tied for #1 Ranker, and <amw> <juan31> <lostemperor> are part of the logjam at the top of the #1 Ranker.

It's still massively crowded at the top, as 6 people are within 9 points of the lead in Moves Ranker, 6 are within 10 of Bonus Ranker, and 8! within one pick in the #1 Ranker. As expected, <OhioChessFan> and <Penguincw> couldn't hold on to their shared lead in Bonus Ranker and look destined to join <chessmoron> as yesterday's news. <Penguin> was quoted as saying "Forget this, I'm just picking all draws from now on." <Count Wedgemore> was determined to file charges against "those #*@*!%@#$ Haitian scorekeepers", but fortunately <Winky> stepped in to set things right.

<GE> has made a bit of a move and hopes to keep his momentum going. Can anyone stop him? Has <switch> gotten bored with winning so easily and now taking a few rounds off just to give everyone else a chance? What will happen in the incredibly contested #1 Ranker? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other exciting questions. 9 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.

OhioChessFan: <Travis> I didn't mildly object. I didn't object at all. But whether I took anyone's side or not, what is the problem with that? You had me on ignore because you thought I was disagreeing with you about something? Seriously? And yes, I knew that was what happened. Someone else erroneously happened to include me in a list of objectors. Big deal.

Jan-17-18  WinKing: <chessmoron> in the Matlakov-Karjakin game <alfamikewhiskey> also had...

[Matlakov-Karjakin 1/2 30]

...good for 2 pts..

Jan-17-18  WinKing: Another thing <chessmoron> I don't think <lostemperor> scored any points in the 'bonus ranker' yet it shows 1pt. being added there. He only scored in the 'moves ranker' 13pts. I think 1pt. should be deducted from his score in the 'bonus ranker'.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 5 Recap **

It's been an incredible tournament, as the leaderboard is changing constantly. <amw> is on top of 2 Rankers. Bad enough, but then <Winky> had to go and find a couple extra points for <amw> to extend his lead that much more. <lostemperor> showed up late to the party but still leads #1 Ranker. <Winky> did a fine job there in taking a point away from Yoda. And <Winky> leads the 4th Ranker. <OhioChessFan> is desperately hoping <Winky> finds some extra points for him, as he's scored a grand total of 1 point in the last 2 rounds.

The contestants are in a total frenzy, as they don't know who to concentrate on, as the leaders seem to change every round. <OhioChessFan> threw his Magic 8 Ball in the Ohio River, as it's been totally worthless the last 2 rounds. With all the uproar, it's time for us to take a break. The Tata Steel officials had the wisdom to agree that the players there need a break just as much as our contestants. We'll relax tomorrow, and then pick things up on Friday as we continue our quest for cyber fame and fortune. 8 rounds to go.

Jan-17-18  WinKing: Points are precious folks! I am doing my best to help <lostemperor> & watch everyone's back. It's easy to miss a point or two keeping score...this I know. ;)
Jan-17-18  WinKing: Ok I'm sorry <chessmoron> I see that <lostemperor> did score 1pt. in the Anand-Wei game. My mistake. Just 2pts. needs to be added to <alfamikewhiskey>'s score.
