<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 7 Recap **

It was a truly pitiful effort, to the point where this site's annoyingly eternal optimist, <WinKing> felt compelled to give the contestants a Win One For the Gipper speech. <lostemperor> responded to the impassioned speech by saying "Mind your own business, you haven't even hit a #1 yet, who's your daddy?"

In any case, <lostemperor's> daddy, <Fiona Macleod>, has at least a share of the lead in 3 Rankers. <Penguincw> continues his bizarre strategy of not scoring in Moves Ranker and leading Bonus Ranker. <amw> still has a share of the #1 Ranker lead, as does the eternally grateful <OhioChessFan>.

<OhioChessFan> figured out that after 7 rounds, we're 50% of the way through our 14 round contest. 7 rounds to go in our thrilling-albeit low scoring-contest.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 8 Summary **

<alfamikewhiskey>, whose initials are my favorite type of root beer, surged to the lead in 3 Rankers. <Penguincw> still leads Bonus Ranker while not having scored in Moves Ranker. He's joined in that by Pollyanna <WinKing> who keeps yelling at the contestants to do better but can't get a #1 himself.

Most of the races are still very close and the entire contest is wide open. Early leader <wordfunph> was heard to yell on the playing floor, "I'LL SHAVE MY LEGS IF I CAN JUST GET BACK IN THE LEAD!" He was shushed by Wesley So, who blamed <word> for breaking his concentration and making him settle for a draw instead of a win. <Count Wedgemore> blamed his incorrect prediction of a draw for Kramnik on Kramnik's excessively large and clumsy hands making the wrong moves.

We're past the halfway point in this battle to find a challenger for the World Championship. The tension is growing and with a day off in the NCAA basketball tournament, this has become the focus of the sports viewing world. Can our contestants maintain their composure, or will they choke like those two lousy, stinking teams from Cincinnati did last night? Stay tuned as we hurtle toward the finish. 6 rounds to go.
